    Over the past several months, the Alpha world has experienced significant degradation from its originally pristine condition. Some portions of the map are generated in the version of Minecraft 1.5, 1.6, and 1.7. Because there have been changes to the way Minecraft generates maps, Alpha has become a patchwork of different incongruent chunks and biomes. In consideration of the upcoming Beta update, we are fixing this in order to bring both worlds to the latest update and condition.

    Our solution is as follows:
    • Every chunk that is not owned by a town has been regenerated
    • Due to the fact that chunks undergo a one-time regeneration when a player loads them, the server will be slightly laggy at first to freshen up the map.
    • We will update the Towns system to regenerate unclaimed town plots correctly and instantly!
    We are sorry if the new chunks have inconvenienced you, but we hope that you will enjoy the updated chunks and the new positive potential that this brings in regards to the future of Towns Alpha! :)

    Reading this, its unclear whether the biome changes will be "fixed". Meaning, the forest biome my small town is in being plopped into the middle of a desert biome. Will that stay unchanged or will it be fixed?

    What does this mean? Is my town crap now, or will the bordering wild lands be restored to a sensible biome?

    Eleventh!
    Not the best idea ever but does fix the messed up map look how ever slight it is.
    The biggest problem there could ever be is some town that once was on a land mass spawning in the middle of the ocean with no land in sight.

    @Fuzzlr can you at least change it so the town stays for a week after it falls?, I have many raids that I will make a lot of money from and I would still like to raid them.

    Omg i had a great valley for building a new town, mountains all around really nice
    Then along comes this reset :(
    All ocean with a 1/4 of a mountain sticking up
    Plz this reset is terrible

    The town of Onis wasn't affected too much, from what I've seen (there's too much lag so i can't really make out anything) but judging from everybody's posts, Fuzzlr, this was a bad idea. A separate ideas could be to just update every chunk, but keep map layout and biome types. Is this possible?

    Hmm. Luckily this will bearly affect my town due to me being very high up. Hopefully it doesn't ruin too many peoples towns.
    I lol'd so hard.
