This is to help all you homeboiz on how to lag less.
This is really increase your performance by a TON, so read carefully.

Getting the optifine mod really helps you out too.

    VIDEO SETTINGS:
    Render Distance: 2 chunks
    Graphics: fast
    Vsync: Off
    Max Frames: Unlimited
    Brightness: Bright
    Fog: Off
    Chunk loading: Smooth
View bobbing: On/off (I keep off)
    Advanced OpenGL: Fast
Quality and Performance, make everything off
(dont turn off the things that you dont know about, as it might mess up your multiplayer.
    Animations: all off
Details: Fast/Off (If fast is possible use fast)

These are what I play on, as they may not be enjoyable, they at least help my acer laptop give me a somewhat enjoyable time on minecraft. xD

    CLIENT SETTINGS:
    Go to launcher
    Go to edit profile
    Turn on JVM settings
    Read carefully now
    Where it says -Xmx1G
It stands for gigs of ram dedicated to the game.
Check your computer for how much ram you have, and then put in however much of that you want to
Put more ram in by editing the -Xmx1G to for example -Xmx3G
(Preferably half of it, not the whole thing, because that may crash your computer.)
You shouldn't really mess with anything else in the launcher, as it might mess up the game.

Also, if allocating more ram to the game that way doesn't work, try using M instead of G.
    1024 M = 1 G
    2048 M = 2 G
    3072 M = 3 G

So on and so fourth, for every 1 G you want to add just put 1024 M.
It will look like this: -Xmx2048M

Well, that's about it for this tutorial. If you have any questions ask in the comments below and I'll answer them to my fullest extent of knowledge (On this subject that is). Hope this helps you guys out!

Don't do this. The only time you should be allocating more RAM to Minecraft is if you need it; i.e. Hi-res texture packs, 16 chunk render distance, SEUS/Mods of any kind, etc. The settings you have listed are the exact opposite of the settings you'd have if you needed to allocate RAM.

A little spiel on RAM. Adding more RAM to anything doesn't increase performance, unless that RAM is needed. Sure, you can have 32Gb of RAM in your computer. Good luck using more than 8Gb of it at a time. That 24Gb that isn't being used? It's a total waste. It isn't being used for anything, it's just sitting there, doing nothing. Same goes for allocating RAM to MC. You hardly ever go over ~600Mb of RAM in MC, unless you're playing on higher settings with a texture pack. Allocating more RAM to Minecraft/Java causes Java to run its memory cleanup more often, hurting performance.

TL;DR: Don't add RAM to your system, or allocate RAM to Minecraft, unless you know you need it and know your computer can handle it.
