How I Make My Signatures

Have you ever heard of gimp? It's like a free version of photoshop, much simpler, and pretty much all the same tools.

 

I have, actually. I really dislike gimp and find it very hard to use, imo. Thanks though.

I do, though I've been taking a hiatus recently due to rl issues.

 

Hey, this is a GREAT way to do it but my computer is a little too.... slow I guess for it is there any way you coulod do something like you did with the Charmander but inatead of that, use my profile pic? Thanks I'd like some kind of music-type background.... Thank you!

It's not for anything it's my first try :3 Admittedly I accidentally deleted several before I got one finished but hey it worked

 

Mind if I tell you what I would've done?

1. Cropped it shorter/made it wider with a little editing magic, I can make a tutorial on that kind of magic if you guys want.

2. Increased the saturation in order to accent the brights with darker darks.

3. Changed the top text to something more fitting with fire; something handwritten.

4. Probably would have made the texts closer, and slightly different colours. Maybe even one blue and one red to match the scheme.

5. If I could find a good texture, I'd use one.

Great for a first try though! You should have seen some of my first tries!

1. I'd still make it a bit shorter, or with this one, longer would probably be a lot easier.

2. I'd make the bottom text either more faded or a darker colour.

3. Probably would use a different style of text, I prefer the handwritten stuff, and picmonkey has a lot of that to offer.

4. I'd probably utilize the 'Boost' function of Picmonkey a little more.

5. Try to center the text better.

I was the original ava-sig maker. My store is 30+ pages long and has been here for over a year.

Naw, people still come to mine. I don't mind. I did make this, after all!

I spend a lot of time hand-making my signatures, and I learn something every time I make one. I've had a lot of practice with manips; you'd honestly be quite surprised.

any fonts you like? I like Shadows Into Light Two, which it what I used in Lauren's. And where/what is the boost function?

 

Boost is in the second tab (effects) under 'Basic'

I recognized that font! I use it too, but rarely for anything larger than subtext.

As for text I like, it really depends on the sig. Anything handwritten is good for me. Common ones I use are Bradley Hand ITC (rarer), La Belle Aurore, and Santo Dumont.

 

what does boost do?

 

Basically saturates the picture.

 

I tried again, but I really don't think this worked out... I don't really like it myself
