What in God's Name has Happened?

I don't mean to bash the server and all, and I understand I will be getting the generic "you don't play so your opinion doesn't matter" response but, seriously.... What in God's name has happened to this server? So let me just give y'all a little background story below and I will get into some "issues".

So I was bored one day long, long ago and decided I would say "Everyone go to MrsMeganCraft for the ultimate Minecraft experience" (obviously a fake server), I was banned etc... etc... but before I was banned I could see the server was in a massive decline. If you all don't think the server has declined you are sipping on something really funky. I come back after 4 months and it seems as if the gates of Hell have opened. The server is virtually dead and a great deal of the community has complaints and they are not being listened to.

I hear there is no vshop or anything of that nature and there are only chest shops and strangely enough they are owned by staff or the little staff "cliche" and please don't pretend this doesn't exist. I know very well that certain people get away with certain things and get info about things because of who they know, this is common knowledge.

Voting is still down, has been for ages, it probably will never be fixed but yeah... if small servers that have a community of 5-10 players can keep voting up I would expect this server to be able to keep it working.

/jobs is gone, please don't rant but noobs have no way of making money in a mindless drone way. Little kids want to go on a server and dig for money, this might sound stupid but its what they want, give it to them. What kid is going to join a server only to find out it is hard to make money without thinking for more than 60 seconds, yup, not many... People are lazy and stupid, give them stupid and easy ways to make money. It doesn't matter if you have your own stupid agenda about having an economy that you like (addressing upper management here), it has killed the server.

There are a plethora of other things wrong, I am quite sure of that but please... this server has gone way down hill and it isn't the "staffs'" fault, it stems from the upper management.

Fix the server for people that actually are willing to play on the server still because I certainly don't have the time anymore.

Vshop worked back in the day but no I'm not offering suggestions really. I have no intention to play Minecraft anymore. I was just astounded to see how much the server has declined in the past year.

 

ik what you mean. They also deleted v-shop because you could have monopolies on certain items causing extreme price soars and the making of the poor poorer and rich richer... Btw I remember when I sold you acacia saplings for like 1 k each <3

 

They aren't adding the vshop because I remember that Fuzzlr tooked about 30-40mil worth of meebles of items in the shop because it was being used as storage instead of using it as a shop. like people would put /sell 50 beacon 100000000

And then no one would buy that because of how expensive it was. Also, the number was used per beacon, not for all 50. So, there many items like that in the shop, and fuzzlr removed all them. This is what started to major decline in player count because so many people lost so many items and money. fuzzlr never told anyone about this either, he never said he was going to removed items from the shop.

Also like gooby said above, it was causing monopolies to form.

Also the other start of the major decline in player count was when he put 20% tax on everyone on the server. That didnt help anything.

 

There are dozens upon dozens of shops that aren't owned by staff, and lots of staff don't have a shop.
Voting being down annoys me too, I'll admit.
I want /jobs back, with maybe a limit per day. +1.
I am doing everything in my power to fix these things, but I don't have much.

The main problem with the server administration is that they don't focus on what a new player's experience with the server will be like. Most of the input from the player base that the staff receive is from well established players, leaving newer players with not much representation, and causing the des visions made to benefit more senior players. If we want this server to recover, we will need to begin taking into consideration what new players will experience when first joining the server.

 

What people don't realize is by adding money into the economy more player - player transactions are made (what chestshops were intended to do).

More people making money means more people buying items from other people.

CTF is an example. I would play ctf (10k a round) but you always get disconnected and the lag is so bad it is unplayable. Kitpvp is screwed up since day one and staff keep neglecting it that at most 5 people play.

Parkour is a way too make money but it actually requires hours to do, and people don't want to make 36k in 3-4 hours.

New players would say the same thing. You need money to make a chest shop, you need money to make a pwarp, and in general most chest shops are filled and overstocked. /pwarp shops is an example of this, the prices are so high that no one ever buys anything. They only sell items which results in filled chests.

You can still easily abuse chest shops.

Of course, vshop and other meep things were removed because they all have their reasons. I get that.
But the voting.
Seriously.

 

Who cares if Vshop is exploitable so is chestshop. I'm tired of building something, running out halfway through (I use a diverse amount of materials) and typing in "/buy 64 oak wood" or something like that and it tells me I can't do it.
Then I have to waste an hour of my goddamned time just buying stuff to build.

I come on this server for an easier simulation of real life, not this BS

As for voting I really don't care because I never vote, since the MeepVote thing never bothered me since the first time it came up and I never saw it again.

Eh. If the eco gets totally screwed up, everything will keep up with it. That's how inflation goes, anyway. And inflation IS good; you don't want deflation, like we've been having by trying to suck money out of the economy. I mean, irl, a country's rate of growth-inflation-stuff i'm not going to pretend like i completely understand it is about 2.5% (or so I've read).
Gas for example (though it often fluctuates due to embargoes and new drills and whatever else is going on), used to be 99c - which is about 3.something in today's money. Inflation happens, it's not a bad thing.

I don't see exactly where the eco gets screwed unless there's an unfair distribution. There's always going to be rich and poor, but when someone can't make any money when starting out, there begins to be an imbalance.

Due to the nature in which upper level management values the sanctity of the economy above the quality of life of its citizens, one must conclude that this is in fact a branch of the federal government. Going on that, we will have an african american leader of meep before these "for the people" changes ever happen.

Hornemans has had his money for nearly 16 months and I have yet to ever see him damage the citizens experience anywhere near 1% of what the admin's decisions have caused. So there goes that argument. If anything, hornemans has created jobs, purpose, something to do, fun and publicity(even youtubing) with all his earnings.

I fear that the admins' fear of making a mistake is so great that they will never be able to actually let the economy go free again. Who cares if one dude makes millions off of a cactus farm, or villager trading. They deserve it, thats what "winning" means, and in my 23 months of meep, I have seen zero evidence to support the claim that an inflated economy means less fun.

Another random rant, rewrite the damn rules so the delightful few who decide to become staff don't overwhelmed so much that they stop playing meep all together and just resort to copying and pasting links and stupid crap on the forums. They sign up to help, not sacrifice their whole experience. Old meep may have been mayhem but it worked and people were happy, staff were happy. EVERY staff member I talk to sounds like they're slowly dying inside. Its time to change.

Bring back Vshop. Fix the donor shop. Stop abusing your current staff with crappy regulations that simply make up for the trust you don't have in them(try hiring someone you trust who actually plays). Put a post on the front page telling us when our perks will actually return. I hate to say this but TS represents less than 1% of meep's donating community base, town hall meeting means nothing to the hundreds of people who left and just occasionally check in. Just give them something to read on the front page. FFS.
