Remove "/t join (blah)" signs illegal near /warp alpha or /warp beta spawns

skyside can get residents the old fashioned way, by interacting with the players.

 

Mayors are allowed to build what they want where they want in there town. They're not breaking a rule it's there fault

 

+1 I agree with Bob4444444. I heard someone speaking about how high tax they had in their city, and how they make 1.2 million meebles/day. These players are not able to experience the meepcraft community like we do. Like meep is famous for.

You're basically suggesting something like: Guys lets make Hornemans lose money! So naturally you'll get +1's for this suggestion, however I don't see the problem here, if I understood correctly, they're placing signs advertising their town on their town property and it should get removed? If the citizens don't like the town they joined, they always have the option to leave.

 

You're all saying they can always leave. When I first joined towny I was an idiot. All I did was have my small house with my small plot where i stored items. I didn't even know the /t leave command. Do you really think all of them will? Sure, some of them will figure it out, but it's still the job of the community to help them figure it out, and if they mayor isn't there, they most likely never will.

Those of you saying "they can just leave", that's not true.
As a town mayor, when I invite most newbies, some of them don't show up at all. But when they do show up, and after I give them a plot, their first question is always:
"Where can I get stuff?"
This is something the MEEPGUIDE says. HOW are they suppose to know something that is not even covered in the meepguide? And I doubt many of you would be like "Oh, btw, you can always /t leave if you don't like it" to every new citizen.

 

Same here. In beta it's 1.Let the person join. 2. Get a plot 3. "Where can I get stuff?".

I think there should be a update list that cost money to post your town on a board at each town spawn and is approved by staff with certain circumstances so new players have a place but not abused.

 

-1, If you own the land, you can build a sign there. It does help new players find towns (albeit ones that rip them off...)

 

Exactly. The new players join the town that rips them off (if they even get a plot at all) and they don't even realize it until it's too late. And almost all of them don't know how to leave a town, and that's probably the last thing on mayor's minds to tell them.

 

+1 honestly I don't see these signs as being welcoming? Or if they are they are welcoming players to lose all their money. Honestly they should just be taken down period. But it would be cool to have like signs at /warp alpha that say what towns are open not like the giant signs at spawn but like on a little wall in the alpha spawn.

Every bit of information you posted in the original post is WRONG and BIAS! As "staff" you should know nothing happens without "proof" so please post your proof that the things you mentioned are indeed happening! Also i feel that this is SLANDER saying that such towns are "crappy" and "abuse players" just because its seems you are super jelly that you just dont have a big sign!

Again, where to start with all this WRONG and BIAS information. Please provide some of these “so called” player testimonials that say they are getting treated bad and being scammed? These signs you mention trick or fool no one! And please tell me what makes these towns bad (is it cause your jelly of their location)? Anyone that +1 this thread I hold you to the same standards as Bob4444444 here, please provide your “so called” proof that these signs do anything you have stated, if you have no proof then keep your super jelly comments to your self!

Errr? Ummm? Since when were you a new player? So by your own statement these signs don’t involve you either! So thanks for providing more proof that your entire suggestion should be denied.

You dont understand cause you don’t want to understand the truth! Highways or in front of spawns, they are the same thing, just a sign! And YES billboards usually do make you spend money on stuff or inform you of stuff you don’t know about, which is the point of their entire existence!

Im sure that there is a rule now about having enough plots for town members so if they are not meeting the rules then (as a staff member) do your job, no need to complain about it! As far as your complaining about them getting materials it is clearly explained in the meepguide and at the tutorial! It is not the towns staff responsibility to get the players building materials, if that is now you do it in your town great, but you have no right to tell EVERYONE else how to run their towns. Players do get lost, stressed, and just quit, but please AGAIN provide proof that this ONLY happens in town with big signs!

I think you are extremely annoying and ugly and ruin meep for people, but you don’t see me making dumb posts about it do you (except this one )! I happened to think the Skyside and Monkburg signs are pretty nice, but If you dont how about offering your superb building/design services and make a nicer sign for those people (for free)!

Speaking of MISGUIDED INTENTIONS the only people here with misguided intentions are all the people that +1 this idea cause they are super jelly and want the residents to themselves, thus making this ridiculous post to remove some signs that make no difference in meep! If you all really cared about the residents you would be /msg them each in game and help them out instead of wasting time on this pointless thread!

This is just more evidence/ proof that everyone that +1’s or supports this post are the real ones with HIDDEN motives and only posted because of BIAS and selfish reasons! Also again with stating which towns are better than others! Everyone’s town is AWESOME!

This it true! ANY and ALL towns can get members by /msg and /mail players they feel would be a good addition to their own towns! You can also at any given point just stand at any of the spawn and just chat in local with the dozens of new players that come though there ever hour, and then get them to join your town!

Could you not quote 11 messages in 1 post? I wouldn't have responded if this wasn't a major issue.

I'll number the responses.

1 and 2: Yes, we don't have actual proof (yet) of this happening, but I can try to pretend to be a new player and make a video. Also, unnecessary caps and exclamation marks only make you look like you're mad. Makes me think of Cooleys if he somehow gets demoted.

Do you know what EVERY SINGLE PLAYER who joined my town has asked? "Where do we get materials?" If they don't know something that is in both Meepcraft (news? Messages? Idk) and the guide, HOW WILL THEY KNOW KNOW HOW TO LEAVE!?

4: Now that was just a desperate attempt. Also proof that you don't care about the new players. He was simply answering matcre's "I don't care" remark.

5: If it's "just a sign", why are you trying so hard to keep it there?
