Auto Tax

Ok, So this is a Tax on Towns that automatically taxes the Ressies exactly the amount to pay upkeep evenly on the Town so that it is an equal amount for each person. SO if there was a 5000 Tax with 50 ressies than each will be taxed 100 however if 1 leaves dropping it to 49 than taxes on everyone will be 102.05 to break even on tax and make up for that person. It's TOGGLEABLE BTW

He means setting tax somehow so each resident is taxed exactly enough so the town does not lose money, or profit.

You have to now account in plot, embassy, shop taxes. What happens to those? Are they just set to 0?
Is this a toggle-thing, or is it now forced upon all towns?

As a mayor, you are required to inform your residents about any tax changes. This, it seems to me, would violate that rule by automatically changing taxes without informing your residents.. -1 for me.

 

Hmm. You have a valid point. The rules would have to be changed slightly to add this. I was going to +1 until I saw this. Now I am not sure. I will have to think upon the matter some more.

 

Also, what if 49 residents leave? Wouldn't that leave the remaining 1 resident with a.... Rather large tax?

 

Add a clause in the rules where you have to inform your towny people at least 3 weeks in advance when you want to change to the auto tax system. If they want to leave they can do that within the 3 week period.

I agree with this. Maybe who people do want it they can do "/t set autotax on" and "/t set autotax off" for people who don't want it?

I don't exactly know maybe just a cut off at a certain spot to keep that from happening maybe have it change to 100 flat if it drops to far.

They all stay the same, It is just the main residents that get the auto when toggled I forgot to add that.

I think this is an amazing thing.

Just like now embassy, plot, shop, etc would be separate and those would be whether the mayor wants profit or not
This could also be percent tax where you can toggle it on or off. But percent tax changes everyday depending on the person's balance. This would be a more stable number so long as residents are stable and plots are as well.

For those who say -1 because tax changes. What about Percent tax? If I make money and Percent tax is enabled My tax changes.

+1 for the idea. It would make mayor's jobs a little easier. I don't need to earn money from my town but I hate losing 2k per day because noobs don't earn.
