Make ban appeals and report a players accepted/denied posts public again.

    People enjoy reading them.
Helps new staff and aspiring staff learn the process and rules well.
Helps people know the histories of players and how trustworthy they are.

Lots of people, including me, are still upset about this. If the ban appeal bot wasn't there, this wouldn't have happened anyways.

Have it so people have to make an account and post it that way. Of course there will probably still be trolls here and there, but it's easy to ban a single account that causes this issue. It's also a lot harder for me to make 50 troll accounts, confirm the email, then have to post it.

The old system worked perfectly fine. There's nothing stopping anyone from making troll appeals right now and you having to moderate it anyways.

    Honestly, -1.
While I not seeing these threads can be annoying after finding amusement or knowledge in them, I feel the ban appeal bot has more benifits than personal entertainment.

This works also like the hidden bans in chat. We can't see the bans, but we also can't argue with them now. We show so much disrespect to staff, that anything that makes it easier on them is worth a little sacrifice from us. I would sacrifice being able to see ban appeals so we don't have threads and staff complaints of, "why was this person denied" "you are a terrible staff" "he's obviously hacking" etc. This would completely avoid any big fiasco such as the Horneman thing that went through forums.

Also, the bot makes it so people can get unbanned easier, and are more willing to try to be unbanned and potentially donate. If I was decently new to this server, or the Internet ingeneral, I wouldn't go give some minecraft forums my email address so I can go appeal a ban on MINECRAFT.

This is not about forum entertainment, and I am not sure why this is even a point used.

It's about information. Someone applies for staff, I want to go through their bans to see how many they've got and for what. I want to hire someone for my town, I want to go through their bans to see how many they've got and for what.

This isn't even about the bot anymore. I mean, bans are public, it's just the denied/accepted sections that are locked, so I don't quite see what the problem is.

+1 It really would help people who will apply to understand the whole process of that situation when it comes their turn to take care of things like this. It shows them what they would be getting tangled up in. (I didn't even release this changed...I've been gone to long)

What if a player that has had a big history of temp-bans applies for staff? We should be able to know if they can be trustworthy or not.

Staff would know, they check banhistory before accepting/denying applications.

So you're telling us that the only "community" here is staff? He's saying that the "community" should be able to see if a player has a colorful ban history as staff members won't bother doing /banhistory for the "community".

Well if people didn't think it was funny to troll a serious staff page that players had access to, everyone would still have access. It is all about making a culture in the comunity so that people dosen't think it is funny to troll stuff like that. If people didn't think it was funny that trolls trolled staff pages we wouldn't have removed them in the first place.

New Helpers has access and aspiring staff can wait till they get Helper, I see no need for people that are becoming staff to learn anything from ban appeals. They will be trained for that on a later stage when they are set to handel them.

Being able to judge someones ban history is a staff task. We do take the comunities responses in the consideration but their bans should not affect your judgement when you post your opinion when it comes to applications.

Well their is something stopping people from posting troll apps, it is not funny anymore.

This is Denied. Have a nice day :)
