Player portals

Like /pholo, a player pays to set up a portal to his or her pwarp under the pholo they rent. Little more expensive than just a pholo but could be used to go to certain shops or host casinos

 

This sounds like a good idea, since players ask, "What is (player name)'s pwarp name?" and so on.

Or you can just say, 'go to /pwarp X for Y thing?''
What's the point?

 

the same point that we have pholos; selective advertising. If you're willing to spend the money to draw in the extra groups of people that will see your pholo and warp then the rewards will be greater in the long run.
Plus, not everyone is online all day and pholos and warps run regardless of the player's online status

 

But it's literally the difference between choosing to walk into the portal and choosing to type /pwarp.
There's nothing difference other than the player saving about a second of time.
I don't see the point.

 

Not everyone knows about /pwarp much less how to use it. The benefit comes in when the new players who run around spawn see the ad are able to go there to buy/sell rather than just know that if they happen to find a place called "Ebon", for example, it sells most basic blocks and some of the not so basics.

 

But you can make a pholo say ''Type /pwarp ebon to buy items!''

But then you waste the space for typing when you could have substituted "items" with "most basic blocks and some of the not so basics"

 

But you don't need the stupid catchphrase at the end.
You need enough information to get the player where you want them to got.
''Go to /pwarp Ebon to buy items!'' gets you where you need them to go.

 

But you can also buy items at /pwarp pvp

 

You can also buy things at a dozen other things - what's your point?
adding "most basic blocks and some of the not so basics" doesn't make it any more special than one of the other dozens of places.

 

yes it does because it describes why your warp is better than the others

 

Make your catchphrase thing shorter.
This is silly and more work than it's worth.
You have pwarp signs, /tr, pholos, and hundreds of players. You can pay people to advertise, you can advert in pholos, you can advertise yourself, you can ask to put your pwarp signs in other places.
This isn't needed.

 

But what you can't do is advertise in spawn without making your catchphrase shorter which loses detail and then decreases customer flow

Any person with a sliver of intelligence and how minecraft works can understand this.
Add type to the beginning of that then...

Still, isn't it cooler to walk through a portal than typing it 3 times because first you did /pawrp ebon and then /pwarp ebin
