How does this even make remote sense, staff?

Are you an idiot? Do you seriously not get that that thing I said was about "being a basic human right" was a joke?

Even with a caps filter, it's easy to spam people. Instead of saying "LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL", spammers will just say "lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol". This caps rule doesn't do anything, and spamming can still be done. It's almost like a pole in the middle of a sidewalk, you can just walk besides it. In my experience as a staff member for three months, I have only seen four private message related modreqs, proving its barely an issue anyway, and these offenses take at most 15 minutes at max.

I want to message my friends acronyms, Im a very energetic person in real life and I love to use caps with my friends. The fact that the filter has caused more than one porn links already proves it has to be stopped.

Also, don't call me a derp. It's cringey.

 

I am too lazy to read all the drama above, but ... yes i would like to be able to type LOL in chat instead of L O L. Still, its a waste of time.

 

I think you've forgetten that I've owned a minecraft server for half a year, I know my way around plugins. Deleting or disabling the chat plugin would be easy, taking half an hour at max. It would go so far for people, obviously many people are passionate about this and I wanted to just verify a godawful deny reason. Disabling this plugin would go a long way, and previously stated, it would take no more than thirty minutes. I think I know enough about plugins to make that assumption.

I don't appreciate it that you are jumping to conclusions and being mean to me for putting my ideas on this forum. I meant no harm in making this thread, and the fact that you instantly become defensive makes you look extremely immature.

Keep in mind yes this is a server with players who are young, allowing people to use caps makes it being able to send links in chat/msg someone could send atrotious things to another like said explicit content or even pictures/videos of people being killed and messed up sites. Yes it is a terrible scenario but I have played on other games where this has happened. Your arguement could be well they can just report that player but they still cant unsee what terrible thing they could be linked to and alo if you send someone a link without explaining what it is I would safely say curiousity would play a role.

Reasons to Remove the Caps Rule

• Able to post links
• It sent the picture of a naked man to the player - If there was no caps filter the issue could have well been avoided
• Able to use acronyms
• Can't even type @VKL's damn name correctly
• My report couldn't be seen because of the caps rule.
• 
• The server GETS swear words and inappropriate things said on it all the time Insert Murphy's Law
• Spamming can still be done
• Deleting or disabling the chat plugin would be easy
• People have almost been wrongfully punished because of this

Reasons to Keep the Caps Rule

• Someone could send atrocious things to another

• Gets meep nowhere
  
• They could report it on forums

You want to know why I seem distant a lot? Because of stupidity like this thread. Instead of just saying, Ok, theyre right. Lets focus on getting Meep straight and making towny stop crashing, minigames fixed, ect. and propose this at a later date, You find the need to act like a 12 year old forum bully with nothing better to do than pick something small and draw attention to yourself.
So yes, community. Im disappointed. If you wanted to have a discussion about it, then you can start a discussion thread. Not a "staff sucks" thread.
