Clear lag

I was told that it is back and I don't see another thread on this so I'ma post this here

Give us a warning about it, because people can lose things to clearlag and it's further not their own fault, it's possible I lost a rabbit spawner to this today (Love cookieman for refunding) and people can lose lots more valuable things as well.

So, it's basically when ClearLag was first added again? What ever happened to the warnings like "Warning! Items will be cleared in 30 seconds!"? I lost an anvil when I was selling to a player for having no warning once because of it.

Very true, it is a serious problem and sometimes people can quit for a while because of it. +1

 

When they didn't have the warning people complained. When they added a warning everyone complained about the spam. Then they decreased the spam amount and everyone still complained. Now you want it back? Do you see a pattern here?

 

They completely removed it for a very long time and nobody complained.

They remove the warning completely and lots of people can lose lots of things, and it's not their fault because they can't see the warning.

 

I do see the struggle with not being able to see when Clear lag is going to happen, accidents happen. I guess it should give a 1 minute warning to players in /shout every 5-10 minutes it cycles. Otherwise it's another thing spamming /shout

 

I'm not even thinking that, I'm thinking a 10 second warning every time it runs, that way players an see it every time and they don't have to wait that long. A minute warning is fine, but no one wants to sit there for 45 seconds wondering if it's too late to drop their stuff now.

So you only want a 10 second warning for ClearLag so you know when to drop your stuff? Just drop it when ever, it'll be taken eventually. As long as that specific chunk is loaded then clear lag will eat it right up.

Although there should be a warning for other reasons.

 

...I'd want to know when to drop my stuff or break something of value in order to keep it or give it to someone. You can see in my post and in several comments they have had this issue.

That's why the suggestion was made. Because people can lose ores and stuff in wild. People can lose spawners. People can be selling and lose pretty much anything you can throw to a person in exchange for money.
I don't care about clearlag taking the junk I drop on the ground because it is junk.

maybe there can be a command like /clearlag or something that tells you how long until its going to happen

 

+1, I remember asking someone "what if clearlag takes it?" the person didn't know clearlag still existed because there was no warning. "It's fine, clearlag isn't a thing anymore."
