MeepCraft Dynamic Map

In my opinion a dynamic map for towny in Meep would be nice and useful. People can locate open areas in this map and then just go to the co-ords so they don't have to spam /random to get their desired location. It would also show the cool towns in towny. Tell me your opinions!

once upon a time i was on a server that had dynmap
they closed
because it took up so much space and they couldnt afford it
the end

dynmap is pretty expensive, storage wise. it's a neat idea but probably not the best for the moment.

 

I'd love having this, but I agree we need to consider the storage space on the server. We do NOT need more lag. From a player point of view though, HUGE +1

Dynamic Maps are amazing, but for a server this massive in land and once player base seems far fetched.
I usually see dynamic maps used on servers for semi-famous minecraft youtubers. It would be pretty amazing to see the entire alpha and beta worlds in a dynamic map, it would actually probably be even cooler than the server itself. But as Bloopers has stated, this things can either make or break the server.

 

It's an amazing idea, for sure. The idea of being able to see everything in a interactive map is really cool.

But, like many people said, this wouldn't be plausible because of the size of the alpha and beta worlds. It'll cause way too much lag. No point in having this at spawn either...

I think meep would break before even completing the download process

 

Apart from storage,
dont forget about town raiding. This makes it really easy for players to raid towns
Its also a fun challenge to find a nice spot to settle and clear.

I really do love the idea. It's great but as bloopers said it's expensive and could potentially break the server. +/-

 

I thought this would have been really cool until I read this. This would take the challenge out of raiding and someone would totally exploit it. This coupled woth the storage and heavy use of the server computer I think that though it would be so cool that the cons outway the pros for me. But if it does get excepted I would be so excited!

 

I don't want the server to go broke though but this would be cool and I would use it so why else not

 

+1, It would help small town owners search for places with prestigious locations to expand.

 

This would completely defeat raiding missions, you can do /random to find places with 'exotic' locations, and it is quite resource intensive. Denied.
