PVP

So I think the we need to fix /warp pvp

So what I mean is in /warp spawn you can just run and fall straight into pvp, and I even do this being an experienced player, let a lone some brand new player.

The new player: They spawn into this massive area all excited, then the run into this little pit, they don't read chat or read the holos and just jump in since their new. Then some god player comes in and reks them, they loose all the starting gear, amour tools food and most important the guide.

I think in the center of the pit you fall into, at the middle and like 7 blocks up so its at floor level with spawn, put in big words like this

PVP ENABLED IF KILLED YOU WILL LOOSE STUFF

Also maybe some other way that only happens when you first go to the pvp arena by like having a message in chat saying:

Many players come to pvp, lots of diamond amour fire swords and power 5 bows, along with potions, if you jump in you will loose your gear and may not get it back. Type /confirm if you understand

This could be for the new player to understand. Because loosing all this gear at the start can be enough to make a player quit, as I have seen someone get killed then there name disappears in tab and I don't see them again.


Another big part of this is the speed boost at spawn, I can control my self since I'm use to it but a new player won't be and will sprint right in.

Why don't we just cover up the hole and the only way to get to the other platform is by doing /warp pvp?

I'm pretty sure new players can control the speed boost at spawn, considering it's only at the ice paths.

 

This idea is the best i have seen in a while. Mods please accept this suggestoon. When i was new to meep i fell in the terrarium with diamonds not knowing what the thing was. xD

Seriously with the amount of people saying that they fall in something needs to be done. And don't go saying that you should be paying attention or have to jump over a block or some bs like that. People fall in. Fact. Fix it.

I have fallen in myself too, just cover it with glass, the hologram is enough right?

 

I'm sorry but I really don't see how you can fall in with the added platform before you even go into the actual arena, not to mention the big red holograms that tell you it's a pvp area.

Just make a ledge all around the arena, as it's obvious that people are falling in because it occurs on a regular basis. At some point you need to say "Okay, maybe this is just a poor design" instead of "these people falling in are stupid."

 

Why is it so hard to cover up the hole, and make the added platform the spawn-warp for the terrarium?

edit: I mean, the only way to get to that platform, is by warping there.

 

No need to even cover up the hole--just complete the ledge around the platform

Not only is there a compelling reason to change fix the hole, but there is no reason why changing it would be a bad thing. This arena is receiving more attention in our new spawn than almost every other gamemode that we have! Its possibly also attracting newer players who will die to players with god sets as soon as they jump in.

Honestly, stop being ignorant and do something about this.

 

I like this a lot. I know that the hole is a central part of the spawn and its most likely not going to be removed. Something like a button to go down to PVP once you're in the hole would be good here as well, and there's holograms that tell you to /spawn if you don't want to be there (I believe that's in chat also)

 

While I do agree it may seem unlikely, I actually lost most of my items in a similar situation. At one of the older spawns, the spectator area had PvP enabled. Even with the obvious signs, 11 year old me somehow didn't notice them and got killed instantly.
It's unlikely, but possible, along with the risk of some people falling into the huge hole that's currently at the spawn.

I do like your idea of having some sort of button to press, or a similar concept that requires you to confirm that you are going into a PvP area.

+1 I haven't done it myself, but this is obviously a problem. I've fallen in the hole too, but not into the pit because of my quick reaction time. If you think it's just people being stupid, don't ask how many fell in during the "Meepbeans" event because it lagged so bad. Spawn in general is laggy, so it's easy to fall in. Just add a stupid ledge already!
