Although grammar is very important, this is not the time nor the place.

If I was you, I would purchase an external hard-drive and back everything onto there. You would be able to do a complete reset with this. I have done this many times. Good luck with your pc though.

Well crap. We have a slight problem. I can't seem to get my username correct. It isn't C:\Users\Liam. I think it might be C:\Users\Liam Burgmann, but that has a space. What should I do?

try with the space but with double or single quotes at beginning and end of the file path
so "C:\Users\Liam Burgmann" or 'C:\Users\Liam Burgmann'

If you have command prompt sfc /scannow then restarting is a first step.

After doing a startup repair thing, I managed to open a notepad with the error for the startup. It says:
    Root cause found:
The operating system version is incompatible with Startup Repair

These both just think the space as a change in the syntax, which just gives more errors.

I doubt this is the problem, as it usually does a few of these, but whenever I restart it also makes some clicking noises.

    Use 8.3 notation: C:\Users\LIAMBU~1

    Awesome! It worked! I think...
Basically, it ran the command without any errors. But when I try to do the reset now, it still says there isn't enough space. Any ideas?

Did it move all the subdirectories? The report in the second screenshot seems pretty light. We should have seen much higher totals for files and space.

Im not sure. Thats all that it shows. It also says that it skipped 1, and that the total is 1.

I attempted to use rmdir, but it just said "This directory is not empty"
    --- Double Post Merged, Mar 29, 2016 ---
how can I tell if it has moved the subdirectories?

Because when you list the directory contents, there are no contents. And when you list the contents of the destination directory, you find all of the subdirectories you were expecting.

Hmm. Okay. Any ideas on how we could fix this? Is there a way to check the directories?
Edit: By the way, thank you a million for all the help you are giving me. I'm really grateful for it.

All right. I guess by the silence you might be stumped. Thanks a ton for all the help you gave me, I really appreciate it. I'll leave the thread open for another two days, and then I'll call customer service. Thank you!

It's not that I'm stumped, it's that I've been growing increasingly concerned that this is a bad idea. I thought this was a case where someone with some command-line familiarity needed some extra guidance. What I've found, instead, is we're doing a keystroke-by-keystroke affair, which means I'm fully responsible for whatever happens. Except, I'm blind here, so it's really easy for me to give bad advice.

Plus, navigating directory trees and listing their content is a basic skill, and it's necessary for a lot of commands like this to be done in order to analyze your data and figure out what should be moved or deleted, and how that worked. We could be at this for weeks.

I suppose I'll give an update. I managed to both copy the C: drive onto a flash drive AND delete the C: Drive, but when starting the reset, it said after getting to 1% "There was a problem resetting your PC. No changes were made." And when I try it WITHOUT keeping my files, it gets to 3% and then says "There was a problem resetting your PC."
It makes me want to rip my hair out because of how close I am, and yet things still don't work. I then tried to copy my E: drive onto the flash drive as well, but it didn't work for some reason. When I ran the command "xcopy /S E:\ D:\LaCie" D:\LaCie being the flash drive, it only copied two files, one being the one I created originally to copy the C user into. I don't know how to select the whole E: drive, and E:\Users\LIAMBU~1 doesn't work on it.

If anyone has any ideas, please tell me. 100k to anyone who has a working idea on either how to fix the reset, or on how to get my E: drive onto this flash drive.
    Thanks

I did it! Finally! I fully reinstalled Windows from a disk onto a external disk drive, my internet didn't work so I chatted with a windows 10 tech for 2 and a half hours, and I let him literally take over my laptop and use the mouse, and he said that he couldn't do it without me buying the premium version, and at the last second he gave one last tip and I tried it and it worked.
