/clearlag

I'm forever losing items due to clear lag going off when I least want it. The in game prompt was removed due to it being spammy. So why isn't a command implemented where you can type /clearlag to see when it's next going to go off so I can know if I pass an item to a friend it wont be deleted.

 

Use chests duh

 

So you've never dropped anything on the floor ever?
Or you've never ever want to pass an item to another person without tping them to a place you have perms, placing a chest, giving them perms and then putting the item in the chest?
Or you've never been raiding and wanted to break a chest to pick up all the items easily?
Or you've never been at a drop party/ hosting a drop party and have had your items cleared?
Or you've never wanted to remove an item from an item frame?
Or you've never been at a casino and wanted to have a go at it?

Do you see my point?

 

Bringing back the warnings seems like it would be less work, though /clearlag would work as well.

I don't think too many people would be opposed to the extra spam generated by the return of clearlag warnings though.

Drop parties, sadly its cleared. Oh well.

Never had an issue at casinos. DOn't gamble, fairly sure IT'S ILLEGAL FOR CHILDREN TO GAMBLE ONLINE OR NOT.

 

I've talked to staff before about that and they've said it won't be coming back although personally I would want them back over my idea of a command. But I guess if staff aren't willing to add them back it's a close second?

 

There's 0 reason not to add the warning back unless they have removed clearlag. People are going to lose their stuff and it won't be their fault. And adding the command isn't the best idea, as I doubt many people will remember to do the command and some people won't even know it exists.

 

The point still stands: there's no way of timing a transaction so that the item doesn't get lost.

You're lucky you only lost a vrohan head; over the months, I've lost count of the plethora of items clearlag has eaten.

This is by no means comprehensive, but I've lost:
6 god sets, swords, and bows
At least 32 gapples
Countless potions
Phoenixpuppy head
Snorehax head
32 diamond blocks
3 stacks of gold blocks

I cry thinking about it--I have literally the worst luck.

 

Or just re-add the warnings where they notified everyone in chat when the clearlag would happen. Usually the warnings happen a minute and 30 seconds before it happens. Not a big deal.

 

I've asked a high level staff a while ago why it wasn't there anymore (god knows who it was I have the worst memory) and they said that there was no point to it being brought back and it just spamming up chat. So here's my alternative
