server render distance

simple request, just to change the server distance to something higher than what we currently have, im not sure if its changed lower for technical reasons etc, but if we could have it changed that'd be awesome, cheers

The reason for the render distance is to reduce the strain on the server (lag). After implementing this, Fuzzlr/KlutchDecals/Sjoeppappentrap have seen a tremendous decrease in server related lag and the strain put on the server it self. I honestly hate it, but anything to help the server itself run better as a whole.

 

I like it as it is. -1. That's probably because I live where the Wifi is not. As Yoda would say it, "Not, I live where the wifi is.".

 

Ah, so this explains it... I was wondering why I couldn't get good screenshots of my town due to the chunks unloading despite my local view distance being set higher.

 

use optifine and lazy chunk loading, walk in one direction and then quickly turn around, you can get good screenshots this way because optifine waits a few seconds to unload the chunks
