Baseball

One of Americas best games is baseball. If baseball could be brought to meepcraft, we'd be the only server that has it. Think about having baseball and meepers crowded around the stands to see their team win, gamblers betting under the stands, coaches ready to make or lose money, perfect Eco simulation. This would also make a great mini Eco game to get players hooked on the whole Eco stuff and will get more people in towny which brings in the money. I have many more ideas about customizations you can buy with meebles and ones you get with ranks.


The Game
You would click the pitch and move your mouse where you want the ball to go. If you hold the click the ball would have more power and thus go faster. Same with the batting system, you would click to swing, move your mouse where to swing, and hold down click to have more power. The outfielders would try to catch the ball by running where it's going to land and clicking at the right time. Running the base would be basic minecraft running. Passing the ball is the same as pitching. You earn coins if your teams wins like infected. You can trade coins for meebles or you can buy speed upgrades which increase your chance of running with swift 1. Also, you could buy better baseballs for pitching, stronger batts, and faster throws for outfield. The game would have rules based in the national league. I know this would be one of meep's greatest accomplishments if performed but also meep's greatest challenge. Thank you for your time.

 

You know how you can hit ghast fireballs with your sword? Like that with an infected-style custom texture pack. What about different maps though?
Team captains? Field-setting?

 

-1 minigames have been proven over the past few years to not bring in any substantial amount of players or donations. No need to divert resources from the one plugin that does.

Yes instead of using plugins we could use that with texture packs. Different maps would be different stadiums. To match people up with the same level there would be leagues. Each League has there own stadium. Team captains would not be needed. When you move up in a league your signed to a designated team. National league would be the team setup. Thank you for mentioning this, I did not think about this when I first typed this suggestion.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that if we use cavespidersam's idea with just a different texture pack it wouldn't take up that many resources.

Yes and I understand that this would not be a top priority, just something that if a tech has free time, he/she would work on this if he/she would want to /feel like it.

Teams could also be towns, we could have towns vs towns. Selected members for the team and the winner gets 50k in the town bank. It wouldn't be as common do as mini games though. With this it would be once a week.

 

We don't need more minigames.

 

We need to stop replacing Minigames.
+1 other servers have soccer/Australian football as a mini game, how about other sports? Like Boxing, American Football, heck, how about frickin Golf?

I don't honestly see this enjoyable. Sure I love to play real baseball outside, but it just doesn't sound like it would work in Minecraft.
Also, this gamemode would need around 9 people per team (pitcher, catcher, 3 out, 3 basemen, and a shortstop) . What happens if someone leaves? Does the game continue or does the opposing team win? We can hardly get more than 5 people on any gamemode before and I think it's not worth the effort.

I rather have some solo minigames (like parkour, for example)

 

This sounds very cool however we are not looking for any mini games at the moment. Thanks for the suggestion but this is denied!
