You possess a mature mind, as I have seen in many debate threads, which is an integral part of being a good staff member.
Your weaknesses aren't weaknesses, they're valuable assets towards being a staff member.
You seem to believe in making the server better for everyone by any means necessary, within reason.
People hold you in high esteem because of what you did as a staff previously. I wish I'd joined Meep early enough to see you in action, but hopefully I'll end up seeing you in your element when you get accepted.

I'll keep this short. I have always seen you as a staff role model, last year when I was trying to get staff I was trying sooo hard to be as much like you as I could. My at-the-time sh*tty attitude took over in the end though lol.

Not gonna lie, I was very surprised to see this. I stalk the forums every now and then and I was not expecting this, however I can't miss the opportunity.

I think there are a few important things to remember here from both staff and players if accepting this application. Accepting this sets a precedent. It makes it so that now denying someone for inactivity can be countered with, "you accepted a person who doesn't play the game". It opens the gates for more exceptions to be made to usually firmer rules. Also, Dein, you are essentially applying for ambassador, not helper.

This kinda of position you are in is more so unique to the ambassador rank. Ex admins who lost the time to dedicate the needed time to meep, so they step down and take a sideline role on the staff team. I think putting Dein there is a good idea because at the end of the day, I don't think your that dedicated to the server and your activity shows that, but you do care and that's apparent. The fact that you care and have held close to every staff rank at different points in the server makes you suitable for the position of ambassador.

If this is still for the helper rank, then -1. It sets an unfair standard among helpers that because you have done stuff for the server, you are ahead of them while still holding the same rank. It makes their activity less meaningful because then they are competing with someone who doesn't have to be as active. I just don't think its really right to accept someone who would otherwise be denied if it was anyone else based on activity. You essentially are a helper not held to the similar expectations of a helper because the premise of your application is, "I'm not going to be active and nor do I really want to be, but I'd like to help moderate".

Moral of the story is, few more things at play here than you think, +1 on ambassador, -1 on helper although I still think you'd be good at it from a moderation standpoint.

 

I appreciate your thoughts on the matter, and I appreciate the compliment. However, I think I disagree with a couple things. I actually disagree with the entire premise of Ambassador, I think one should be in, or out. Ambassador gives people a shaping role without demanding the time put in that other staff put in, and I think creates an unfair standard. I am not applying for ambassador, but helper, just as I've done each time because I believe working your way up is the standard that should be enforced.

On the hand of activity, I did not plan to apply for staff, and not be active in all areas of the game. I was more making the point I do not want to take the traditional route of a player, but more as a pure representative of the server. For example, my projects ingame will tend to try to benefit the server. Currently I am working on a town that serves only to help brand new players find their footing, and feel a part of the community because I think that is the key to player retention, so in essence a "staff town".

That being said, I do not think any unfair standard or precedent is being set. The main reason being my experience is a factor most people who apply will not have. That is working my way from helper to admin in MeepNetworks, being admin here and subsequently working my way from helper back to higher staff each time I've applied. I've been able to do this because of the core beliefs I have on the role of staff. Being respectful to the player, mindful to the business or the server, being a good representative all around of this server, and putting in good effort to achieve any goals one might have. If somebody applies that would be a great benefit to the server, I believe normal considerations should not always be a priority, because at the end of the day this should not be an "everyone gets a turn" position, but a position which serves to aid the server, and keep it a stable and successful project.

 

I've also always hated the ambassador rank. I always found it unfair.

But yeah, my argument was based on the fact that it seemed like you werent going to be active and was more so going to take an only moderation role. If you plan on being as active as other helpers, sure. +1 on helper.
