If America takes a decent hit from Russia I would be happy, maybe then they would stop learning about geography and accusing other countries for their own incompetence.

I reckon it's absolute codswallop, I'm glad to report. The Sun is infamous for hackjobs, clickbait and sensationalist lies. Best to find your news elsewhere, I think.

The story as reported by The Sun attempts to portray the recall of the families of 'Elites' as an omen to prepare for intentional war. There were no links to sources other than The Sun, bar one. To the Daily Star, a similarly discredited newspaper. Searching for the story as reported by more reputable organizations, they hypothesize that this is merely an attempt by Putin to control the 'corrupting' influence of other cultures and countries on Russians living abroad. As eluded to, this is mostly just conjecture. Supported (and most importantly) by the fact that the "OMFG WW3 IS COMING LADS" headlines include the following illuminating line.

"The exact reasoning for the order is still unclear but one analyst has suggested it is to prepare for “big war”."

Right. So according to 1 analyst, eh? Just one? They're not an insider or a top government official. It's just 1 analyst.

An analyst that also has a history of being vehemently anti-Putin? That's stated Putin is; "Lonely", "Traumatized", "A bully", and possibly gay.

He could be correct about all those things. Or wrong about some. Or wrong about all, but still right about the prospect of WW3. I don't know, and *that* should be ingrained into everyone's minds here, I think. We don't know, pretty much no-one knows. Scare-mongering is one of the easiest ways to generate views. This might just such a case of that tactic being put into action.

Ever heard of MAD? It basically means that war between two major superpowers would mean total destruction of most 1st world countries by nuclear blasts coupled with fallout

How about we take Australia and Canada to make room for our growing population?

Won't happen, it's too expensive for countries driven to improve the bottom line, like most modern countries. If it did, doesn't matter cause we'd all be dead anyway. There is no other country on the face of this planet that could go toe to toe with us in a conventional war.

I'm not sure I even get the geography part. What countries do we blame for incompetence?

It's Mutually Assured Destruction and it's completely irrelevant because it's a WWII term that you just blurted out for no reason.

It's also a Cold War term, used when referring to the process of nuclear warfare. It is completely relevant today, as a nuclear war would have the same result. It would start with one all out strike in an attempt to completely erase any known active missile silos that could be used in a retaliation. Shortly after, it would involve most of NATO dragged in by alliances as well as the alliances of other countries. In today's case, the first volley to land would normally mark the loser, as some missiles are intercepted by satellite guided defenses, while the majority make sure that major population centers look like the set of a bad "After Earth" remake. In other words, you can safely assume that if WWIII were to break out, you won't be around to see who's the winner.

We operate under the pretense of MAD today, the term is just as, if not more relevant today as ever before. I replied to your post as an agreement.
