Discord Music

hello! I saw this in another discord and I think it would be cool to have it here too. Basically, if you talk enough in chat then you get points (I'm sure there's a plugin for this somewhere in Discord land), and once you get enough points, you get permissions to use the music player.

This will make people more eager to talk in the chat, and it will make it so there's not a million people trying to play a song at once (so the plugin doesn't break, ya feel?). I guess the music thing is broken right now or something but once it gets fixed I think this would be really great to implement to encourage community interaction and reduce music spam.

 

I like this idea! It might help people use the channels more for off topic stuff and spring some new friendships out of this too!! +1

This is my only concern if it's text-chat based, but I think Junes suggestion is for verbal-chat. Although it's plausible, I don't think we'll have a bunch of people trying to speak over each other just for music points. June, does the plug in have any other criteria?

It's definitely an interesting idea. At the very least it would be neat to have a system in which a player can earn these points.

It's not for voice it's for text, there's no way to track voice without being really invasive. It wouldn't be spammy it would just be regular chat. If people start spamming, then just enforce the regular spam rule

 

With discord bots that track "xp" per message, you can only get xp once a minute. anything more doesn't count for xp

I like the idea, but reggles is gone and we shouldn't just restart a discord server... Someone should ask reggles to transfer ownership to one of the admins.

There are many members in the community that can help with this.

The problem with the current dyno bot is that
1) it's glitchy and has low intelligence (no offense friend)
2) a bug allows only staff members to use music (which I can fix in a few minutes)
3) automod isn't working well which can't prevent spam

So I think we should just switch over to a new bot or just use New London or Legend Discord with a Dyno bot that actually works for everyone (set up by me )

Try asking the players for help with coding. They will surprise you.
