Animals >=< human lives?

Or you could just eat leafy greens, legumes, fruits, vegetables, etc.. something doesn't need to die (taking a life that God created) just because you're hungry.

 

Plant lives matter.
Plants are alive.

 

Our main source of proteins and Vitamin B come from a meat. If God didn't want us to eat animals he would have made us vegetarians.

 

Please tell that to other animals. Wolves, bears, vultures. It's natural. What isn't natural is not eating meat. And if we're talking about lives "god" created (don't get me started on that BS) why do you care more about a cow than a fruit fly?

erm Killing an animal isn't murder... A vegetarian is just as likely to "sow the seeds of murder" as the rest of us.

 

Murder:
the unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by another.

Eating pork is only murder if your name is mojumadahed.

 

As far as I know we aren't "ruthlessly destroying anything." There is a thing called a farm where we breed our own animals kill them and eat them... Cows aren't going extinct where I live. Even if we all eat plants, there will still be war and death btw. Go look outside... the lower living beings are doing just fine at killing each other are they all murderers?

 

To start, I love steak and fish too much to give up eating animals. So I'd never "just eat my leafy greens". However, @GroovyGrevous your saying if I stop killing animals for food that they will then watch me only eat leafy greens and then everything on the face of the Earth will only eat leafy greens? I'm just tryna clarify.

 

@Garde7 @Blue_marlin98 I dont really disagree with you guys, I do eat meat, just wanted to say that I dont like how most farm animals are killed.

@GroovyGrevous oh lol, I was gonna say. I hope he actually doesn't think that anyway, I do disagree how certain farm animals are raised. It's not all farms that do that but when I see chickens with tubes down their throats. I do not agree with it. However, for all you vegans who think imma go vegan to stop the "inhumane" ways of raising animals on certain farms. Your sadly mistaken. xD

 

I haven't done a ton of research (a couple of netflix documentaries) but doesn't the farm industry kill them faster than there nerves can respond? don't they literally feel no pain?

 

I'm not sure about that either, I would have to do some research. However, I can't imagine it actually being healthy for human consumption to eat chickens etc with the way they are raised. I'm not sure what they shove in them via the tubes.

 

From the little research I have done (can't show any sources) animals do feel the pain and die in agony, something that is terrible and should happen. From what I know the amount of animals 'produced' by companies is that big that they can't afford the time to anesthetize(hope I spelled this correct) them.

We are highly sentient creatures whereas animals are mainly instinctual. We know that eating an animal means we are taking a life from this beautiful world. Yet we choose to try justifying our decisions with rationale like stating those lives are beneath us or it's an natural habit. Some animals eat their children to survive, does that means it's natural, and therefore okay to do? I'm sure there are plenty of other examples of things animals do that is not okay for humans to imitate.

You cannot use the argument that human beings are greater creatures because of our intelligence along with the argument that eating meat is natural. We have the sentience to choose not to kill.

For the record I eat meat, but I understand the illogical rationale behind it. The comments in this thread so far haven't been justifiable to the actions we have.

For the uninformed: Many of the plants we eat are actually seeds. We are not killing a plant to eat it, rather we are harvesting the seeds it has grown. If the plant was dead it would stop producing, but when you harvest seeds a plant can continue to flourish and reproduce.

Stay in school.

Come on, Ranger I know you're smarter than to use that argument. You do not necessarily have to kill something, plant or animal, in order to eat.

 

You do if you want to eat said plant or animal. And I'm pretty sure you can't survive on Twinkies.
Also you're not eating the plant if you're eating the seeds/fruit. But doesn't a nice, juicy head of lettuce sound good right now?
