Money Notes

Basically like the disguise notes: papers that when you right click, add meebles to your account. Anyone could create a note with a simple command like /note <amount>. Sort of meeble checks.

This would have several benefits, such as allowing people to store money, and avoiding confusion when paying somebody who isn't online. Finally, slot machines would be far less complicated, as notes could be dropped instead of the books that you sell, especially since the shops to sell the books often dont work.

 

So basically /pay [username] [amount] but on paper.

So you're saving money in your account and waiting to spend it on something big.

Slot machines aren't that complicated, really. You just have to cross your fingers and wait for whatever pops out of the machine since it randomly picks.

And if you're spending money on a slot machine and you get a money note, you're recreating the lottery in a more... "condensed" form.

This is fun til you lose it or accidentally drop it at spawn and someone else picka it up and suddenly the suggestions are to remove it, lol

Gold only allows you to conveniently give out money in units of 50-450. Making a slot machine that dispenses say 200+ gold blocks for a 100k prize would require a lot of redstone work. I can see many uses for this feature and it would not be difficult to implement an admin shop to sell these notes. Having notes in common integers (1k, 2k, 5k, 10k, 25k, 100k, 1mil perhaps?) in admin shops or having a system like the /warp shop where you can type the amount into chat (one of the above integers, not any amount) and it would give you a note for that amount would both work. Admin shops would be easier but a /warp shop-like system would be sleeker.

There is no difference between using a note and a book except the book you need to sell in a shop chest, which can fill and often don't work

 

The book not working is the fault of the person who owns the slots, which at that point you can ask the owner for assistance or if that doesn't work tell staff you won this and you need your prize thing to get it sorted

And the thing is, if there is no difference between a note and a book you can sell for money, except for the fact that the book is easily rendered useless in case of errors by just destroying the shop sign, you have no way of fixing a mistake with a money note accidentally put in the wrong place or dropped and the wrong person picks it up, think about buying something from person A, you drop the note, person B picks up the note, person B is not required to give it back and person A isnt required to give you the item cause you never paid him.



so all in all - This is only beneficial really when you look at slot machines, which are not complicated in the first place and don't need any fixing other than a chest filling up which is very easily resolved by the slot owner.

Regardless of whose fault it is, the slot machines signs not working is an issue when the owner isn't online.

If a dispenser drops it into your inventory, you could only lose the item is by accidentally pressing 'Q' which makes it very unlikely for that to happen. Also, when you're paying somebody for an item as you are facing each other in-game, you should still use /pay. Finally, why couldn't anyone contact a mod if somebody stole their money?

I mean, there isn't anything you've said so far that's made a point against its usefulness, and the slot machines would be less complicated to create, as you wouldn't need to do the simple but space and time-consuming redstone involved.

So very few people will lose anything at all, and there are still benefits

 

It doesn't have any "usefullness" it's seriously just books with less issues. The amount of work required to implement this > the amount it will be used

 

the issue is, I dont like ANY other forms of hidden money. I dont like ANY other form of money that can be duped. Idk about this. whats wrong with /pay?

The chest shop plugin does not deal well woth written books, often times it doesn’t matter if everything is correct on your end, the sign just will not work.

Anyhow, I’m a +1 for the suggestion. You wothdraw a note at your own risk. Fear of stupid people isn’t reason to deny

 

Chestshops require a signed book to be one page only or it doesn't work due to issues with development of the plugin leading to sold books being blank. I googled it as selling "The Warp Book v1" had this large problem at the start.
