Introduction: I'm Dannerzz, or to older meep players "TheVap" (wtf nickname is that?) I also go by my real parent given name Danny. I play guitar and violin and when im really bored and have nothing else to do I get on Meep (which is actually very often). I am a very outdoor..sy.. person and I do like to go fishing very often, so much that I have a condo on the beach and fish literally almost every weekend, so if im not online then, you know where im at . Some people on Meep may know me as a somewhat, "unprofessional" person, and others who actually know me for who I am. I'd like to say it depends on who, and how im talking to someone that depends how I am. I can be a very "professional" person, and on off times, I can be a fun, chill, or sometimes, purposely, annoying person.

I really like talking to many of the people on meep and helping in ways I can around the community just as I like to do in my personal time. Some (or many I don’t know really) people know that I am a lifeguard, and my closest know I am in a law enforcement group, which comes back to my point that I know when to act professional when needed.

I love to weld and hunt occasionally and I look forward to working in a law enforcement agency in just a year or two and study history and law. (Btw) I love to debate and talk about history and politics but i know how to keep it to a minimum and where to put it

Why should you be Helper? Having been on meep for quite a long time, I’m getting bored of doing the same thing almost every day, and I am looking for something new to do. I've gotten to know many great people on the server and learn very many useful tips from some, and uh, some not very useful. So i'd like to learn more, get a new experience, and get to know more people as well as help as much as i can, and i feel that beeing helper will get me to my goal

What are your weaknesses? Being busy on some days. I love debates.

Please give any other information you might think is useful for us to know: I start working full time this summer and may only be on for about 3-4 hours a day some even 2 or none, but I will not go more than 2 days inactive.

I did say i know when to be "professional" and when not to. Also, that's the way I was raised, being a hispanic... it's really a thing we say alot to eachother, doesn't mean this is how i act to customers or co workers.

Well really, it's more of a thing I wouldn't say to people and also, most of my weaknesses are, out of game, procrastination, not paying attention. Just things that don't apply to a game, because well, like many people this is my way out of it :/

Well, I agree with the lack skills part, but then that's why I applied, to learn something new, and pick up knowledge. Maybe my app is weak? I like to get to the point of things, i'd rather wait for a verbal interview to explain myself and who I am, because I wont have anything left to say if my whole life is written on the paper (or screen in this case) As far as the immature. I can see your point yes, I do like cracking offensive jokes every now and then knowing there's no consequence being I am just an average meep player, but i can guarantee that if i get the position, my attitude will change very much, because by then I am applying myself to a professional role that i wouldn't want to lose.

 

Well growing up as a black person, It's something I do get offended by because I have had racist incidents happen to me.

Well, im sorry, where i come from were about 99% hispanic and no ones ever had a problem with it so im just used to it. But also, mind you its not the hard "er" so :/

Another reason why you won't get helper, your apologies have buts and excuses to why. You leave it at sorry if you want a good impression. Thats it.

PS:

If you aren't black, don't say it. Simple. Where you come from as you said its homogenous and you guys say it all the time so of course, no one has had a problem with it. I have a problem with it. I don't say it in real life, and I am black myself.

 

Something to say before my real post, do know that if you are offended with a certain word, Zesk, you can always /modreq. A lot of players seem to forget about doing this and tend to never get someone "punished" and only get themselves punished due to trying to defend themselves. Finally, I would like to say...

Hey Dan, nice to see theres another hispanic around in meep. Unfortunately, I don't believe you'd fit as a staff member currently. Of course, everyone has a chance to show their true colors and show that they are worthy to be a helper, but at this time, I think it'd be best if you waited to reapply again if the application gets denied. Maybe it won't, we'll just have to see.

Your introduction should get us to know you. You do provide some information that let us to understand you, but you could go more in-depth with it. One of things you could have said is you being a hispanic (wondering what group you're in, but I'm guessing either Mexican or Guatemalan) and how its something you like speaking. I'm sure there are other hispanics out there that would love to talk with you, like myself, since I am Mexican. Another thing you could go into depth is like school and favorite subjects. Yes, it is looked down upon when applicants submit a very short application, but if you provide enough information, as well as are currently known to be rather helpful, it could boost up the views made upon you.

Your reason is another thing that is rather short. A lot of players would like to be helper just to help out as much as possible to other players if needed. But, just know that anyone can help, regardless of rank. You have to show why you should need the rank, as all other current staff members are staff that are willing to help anyone and can provide their own specialities to the team.

Although I'm banned, I can't remember seeing you that much in game, though, maybe you were, in which that case you were just quiet. It'd be nice if you tried socializing more, and try to be more mature with certain things, as well as help anyone when needed. Note that there are players with god speed like hands and are able to answer questions really quickly (cough cough clue cough cough), but even so, you can always message.

Well the goal of being staff would be to go higher into rank as i can, maybe not become admin, and until i get there theres a lot to be done

First of all soy Mexicano Cuhh, and actually i was on quite a lot before you were staff, but i think not long before you applied, i quit meep for school reasons, and when i got back i was quite sad to see you banned :/ and i understand, there are things i can elaborate more on such as my life and all yes though, i am a verbal kind of person, i don't like reading much and i know not many other people do too, and i find it better to talk to someone about everything because theres a connection and youre able to express your emotions whether its just voice chat or face to face.

Alright, Dan, I've checked out your application from start to finish. Just to start off:

Refrain from making comments and acronyms via parenthesis when writing an application. To keep it professional and clean. And, to add on, I'd proofread your application before submitting to check for mistakes, such as spelling "I'm" as "im" or the repetition of "meep" as a nickname for the server.

And before I forget, keep the replies to comments at a minimum. Constantly replying back to someone on an application doesn't really make you look that fit for a future staff member.

The introduction has more information that your "Why should you be helper?" section. This isn't necessarily looked down upon, but something to keep note. Keep in mind that the most writing done in a Staff Application is the "Why?" section. Introduction can be lengthy, but it is preferred to have as much information explaining why you should be a staff member. Take Courtney's application for an example or something to look at when applying for the future (if you plan to do so):

I know there's more to this than just "I'm busy on some days" and "I love debates". Yes, those two are considered weaknesses when you typed this application, but add the negative traits to your own personality. I'll put myself as an example: I'm usually an emotional and stressed person. I have occasional mood swings and I have a tendency to overthink things. Right there, I listed about four weaknesses I have if I wrote an application.

Now, to summarize your reasoning as to why you should be helper:
It doesn't convince me.

Wanting to get to know people is easy for some, difficult for others. But striking up friendly conversations and chatting with people while on the server doesn't require a Helper application to do so. There's other reasons, such as saying your activity helps cover for some parts of the day where there's barely any staff online. Take a look at the "Accepted" folder of applications and read through their "Why should you be helper?" sections. Some break down the reasoning into bits, explaining how they can do this and that, etc.

Another problem that butts heads with why it doesn't convince me is the way you responded to people's comments on the application:

Most people leave the comments be. They are meant to be criticism, although some tend to think differently on what "constructive" means. But you replied to Zesk three times in separate posts. That, alone, in my book, doesn't make you look good.

So, my current vote as of now is -1. I wish you the best of luck on your application.
