I agree that voting should be nerfed, especially the meebles you win on it; lower it down to the point where it's just a little extra cash to help you out and not an actual main source of income And in addition, make it more rewarding to vote by putting in more valuable stuff like beacons, elytra or even mediocre efficient tools (like efficiency 3 pickaxes, etc.) rather than 50% of it are disguise notes because tbh they're really useless and most people won't buy them anyway. That way, even though it doesn't give as much meebles, people would still be encouraged to vote because of better rewards than disguise notes lol. And about grinding, I'm pretty sure that Meepcraft staff is working on the economy as we speak, although they're not able to implement the changes until the "API" is finished, so I assume that there'll be game-changing tweaks and adjustments on the economy. But my insights about it is, raise prices of the items involved in the job and strengthen the connection with each job. What I mean is, for example, a farmer will make 1 hay bale and sell it for 10 meebles, a builder buys it and placing a hay bale will give the builder 30 meebles - something like that. Also, make grinding for levels of each jobs worth the effort. Like, for example, you can buff the increase of income per level up of a certain job, etc. These are my thoughts on the subject based on my understanding.
In fact, I've never stated that voting is not broken. I simply do not understand the need to whine, cry, and complain about all the hundreds of problems with the server. As far as I'm aware, they're trying to fix most of these problems. The Trello is visible for all. I've read suggestions like, "make the game more fun," without any sort of definition of fun nor a viable strategy to achieve this goal. I've read suggestions like, "make jobs connect with the economy," yet, no explanation was provided for how to achieve that. Clearly, "decrease voting rewards," isn't the only "suggestion" you're making in this thread.
And so, what is your point? Are you just here to rant and complain about people who's whining, crying and complaining about how the server is broken right now?
Yes, because i find it funny how someone may be in consideration for helper with suggestions like such.
You are clearly derailing the main point of this thread and your reason behind is absurd. Just because I am in consideration for Helper does not mean I am forbidden to express my thoughts and suggestions on how to improve the flaws of the server.
This is a good suggestion, and has been suggested in different forms multiple times for good reason, because generally we should nerf voting and make jobs more profitable. Vote crates should have a bigger variety of items and lower chances for money and vote tools/armor. The cost and buying of god tools has dropped significantly as more players get vote shovels, axes, and picks. This especially is a shame considering this used to be one of the most active markets on Meep. Jobs need to reclaim their significance as the main way money is generated. Jobs encourage players to play longer, as they give people something to do, resources to progress in the game, and materials to sell. However, if god items and about 20k are obtainable daily by voting, doing jobs becomes obsolete. The fun is drained from towny when you don't have a purpose, so the big goals should require a bit of game-play. Therefore, if you can get over 200k, full god items, and a town within a month, the game of towny has lost its value. (As this relates, town prices are way too low, go +1 this suggestion now) In general, the reward for doing jobs needs to be increased and for voting lowered. Voting should supplement jobs, not overtake them.
This thread is dumb... if you want to "fix" voting and the economy then read any or all of my threads... this is pointless cause staff is never going to do anything that "actually makes sense" or that will be "good" for the actual economy (again see any or all of my suggestions).
Can you elaborate on how exactly is this thread "dumb"? Unless if you find working hard for meebles through actual labor and having a work-rich environment a dumb thing and prefer exploiting easy ways to earn meebles, then this is one of the reasons why the economy is at its current state.
How to fix the economy - Give the rich something to spend their money on (no idea what that could be) - Nerf Voting. - Buff jobs by 10-50 meebles depending on the job when they start out. - Quests are a good start for newcomers, but I don't expect them to become a source of income for active players.
I will "quick and shortly" do it as at this point making "real" suggestions is pointless.... cause stuff won't do any of it or anything that "actually" will make a difference. Simplified "voting" is not the problem... and there is no such thing as "grinding" to make money with the current view's of the staff and the current setup of the server's economy (ha there is no economy setup). It is the opposite, I do think people should be rewarded for their hard work should be the only method of getting meebles. People will ALWAYS exploit ways to make meebles but when the economy is set up to encourage this (which it is currently), then that is what you will get. Bottom line is: #1 Voting is Not bad at all (in fact it is very good), voting just needs to be tweaked to be less breaking to the economy (that does not mean "nerf" it means changed to be "better"). #2 The ONLY current system that "kind of" encourages grinding as a paid for the effort is "Jobs" but this is then "broken" by other plugins like "MCMMO" which makes it exploitable. Jobs also ruins the economy, as it encourages people to flood a market and which makes every "grindable" item worth ZERO (one quick example is: spruce wood aka pine logs). This causes the economy to spiral out of control and make its stagnant and usless like it has been for the past 6 months or longer! *mic drops --- Double Post Merged, Jun 21, 2018, Original Post Date: Jun 21, 2018 --- Yes, 100% Agree. Yes, 100% Agree. No, this is 100% the wrong idea. No, this is 100% the opposite of what should happen (get rid of jobs altogether and rid of MCMMO).
Farms also ruins the economy, as it encourages people to flood a market and which makes every plant worth ZERO (one quick example is: sugar cane). This causes the economy to spiral out of control and make its stagnant and usless like it has been for the past 6 months or longer!
I agree 100%. Auto farms are stupid in towny, however, a simple solution easily fixes the problem. Yet, staff will never make the simple easy changes to better the server because they don't understand how things actually work (and/or they just don't have the power or care to make the changes).
