That's why AMD's Bulldozer holds the record for the world's fastest processor, clocking at 8.429 GHz.

    So yes, Intel is garbage.

a record of an overclocked CPU that has liquid nitrogen cooling, are you stupid, this is done under certain areas, finding this in a gaming PC is pretty much stupid, relate an intel to an amd under normal situations such as gaming, office use etc.

    Intel > AMD

Are you serious? It's still been done. Regardless. Intel has yet to beat this record. Not only that, this same processor goes for way cheaper than an I7 as it is. you didn't even read any of the linked article because you have Intel shoved so far up your bum you don't care. The 8-core Bulldozer can clock at a steady 5GHz under standard, entry-level cooling systems. And the fact that ALL FX-series CPUs were to be unlocked to maximize OCing potential? Get over yourself. Get the hyper-threading out your bum and read a little.

lol its funny i have amd, only reason im sticking up for intel is because its performance straight out of the box defeats amd.

I still stand to disagree. I have had better performance with AMD than I have with Intel.

Ahhh the clock speed wars. Back in the early 2000's, a higher clock speed meant performance. But that's not the case anymore with multi-core cpus. Nowadays, many AMD processors are stomped by an Intel processor of equivalent core count and clock speed. Ender is right, AMD is really only still relevant due to the lower cost of their processors and GPUs.

At the same time, they still offer the performance while having more cores.

The biggest factors that people debate about with Intel vs. AMD, is that Intel have faster clocks per core, with fewer cores, and a lower general clock speed, meaning they run cooler. AMD have slower clocks per core, with more cores, and a faster general clock speed, meaning they run hotter.

I have a full AMD build, and I've seen my mid-tower run better than an Intel build, while on ultra on games like Battlefield 4.

But anyways, which brand you chose is really just on opinion and experience. Personally, I think Intel is for the mobile world, as it runs cooler and faster, great for laptops. AMD however, runs hotter and needs some higher up cooling than the stock cooler. Not that I wouldn't mind the stock, they're usually garbage on both sides. And I've seen AMD in a laptop, and an Intel. I'd choose the Intel any day. But for desktops? AMD.

This is my 7 years old desktop's spec... 8GB RAM is really small, motherboard sounds old too, for GPU I'm not familiar with AMD so I don't know is it a good one, others seem fine to me.

I'm pretty sure you can play most of 3A titles if you can upgrade your RAM.
