you are wrong. she is ready.

 

You consistently take an "I am right, you are wrong" position in every argument. I wish not to turn this thread into a flame war, but give me a few valid reasons that she is ready and I will consider your perspective.

I'm a +1, which actually surprises me based on how I felt when you started out as Helper. You have worked hard, learned a lot, and kept up an easy rapport with the community (which ironically makes some think that you must not be doing well in your staff duties). You're careful to make sure you get things right, but you're also getting more independent, solving problems creatively, and becoming more of a leader among staff.

I was your SuperMod for a brief time... from the review I sent to Cooleysworld a few weeks ago (so it may be a little out of date):

Courtney completes a good amount of modreqs (added note: though not as much as a few other Helpers) but is concerned that she doesn’t have enough bans, so I made sure she knows how to investigate modreqs even when players have logged off. . . . She also is concerned that sometimes she speaks her mind too strongly, but I haven’t seen any instances where that causes problems. In fact, I think she could do more of that! She is also active and helpful on the forums.

Courtney is very open to learning, takes the job seriously, and wants to do the best she can. I think it’s still a little hard for her to handle conflict with players – she can get defensive and thrown off by it – but I’ve seen improvement in that area since she first became staff. She is generally good at connecting with the community, even “problem” players. When she builds a bit more confidence and works on a few of the things mentioned, I think she has the potential to be a great Moderator.

^ Ditto to both of these comments. Your ability to communicate and really connect with players is a great asset, and I've seen you put aside personal bias to handle things as staff.

I don't really like this being mentioned as a negative (though it's your right to mention it, haha). It would be one thing if it still seemed like she doesn't know what she's doing, but I'm not sure how her questions when she first got Helper have anything to do with her readiness to be a Mod at this time. Second of all, we've had staff members before who pretend to know what they're doing, but didn't... and they didn't ask questions or accept offers of help. I would much rather a staff member acknowledge that they don't know something (because even admins can learn from other staff) than stay silent to make themselves look better. Remember Cooleysworld's saying? "The only stupid question is one you forget to ask."
