Ban Transparency

Cons of public bans:
-Spam
-Public humiliation
-Possibly create hate on a staff member for banning a certain player

Pros:
+Helps new players who haven't read the rules get an idea of what's illegal
+Public humiliation may be a reason for some to not get banned
+Keeps all players somewhat updated
+Allows staff members at certain times to make everyone laugh.
+Some of us like to know who is getting banned.

Btw, am I the only one who thinks its a little crazy we are basically arguing with the co-owner?

 

I don't think it was that spammy personally! I could care less if it is gone or not, but it did show to me that staff was "actually" doing something rather then being useless as i commonly envision them!

Bans shouldnt be private, this is a goddamn minecraft server. Nothing will be leaked that is actually important

No one even pays attention to that, I'm assuming they're just like "k"

 

Honestly really unnecessary, it is useful to see bans to make sure a player got banned or not. Right now no one is sure that a player got banned, then 2-3 people post reports, etc.

I think it's mainly to stop the "gg" spam... but I would like to see the staff members doing their jobs and players getting banned/kicked so forum reports don't repeat ig bans

players just need to know said player is kicked or banned. nothign more. it gives less player report spam.

 

No, having it hidden = more player reports.

+1, as it hurts new players who may not really have a good grasp on the rules, serves as a wakeup call to players whom may not be behaving the best, and it helps stop people from reporting already banned players.

If it's going to be a plug-in, it would probably create lag.
If it's going to be manually, it's probably going to be outdated.
Public bans are always current and didn't cause lag

 

+1 If certain people are notified ie. Kitpvp it should be announced /w so people know a hacker would be gone. Definitely not worldwide though.
