Introduction:
My name is Alexia. As stated above, I live in Texas. Most of the better things in my life have happened in the last 5 years with becoming a professional Scottish Highland Dancer as well as spending a lot more time with my boyfriend. I also like to go horseback riding weekly and train in Pekiti Tirsia Kali(which translates to ‘’to cut into small pieces with a sword’’), a Filipino martial art.


I’ve played Meepcraft for over a year and a half now. I’ve mayored many towns and shared many memories with many people. I’ve been staff twice now, and been demoted both times which I will explain further below. I really enjoy talking to people in global, and as you can see with my having the most posts on the forums, I spend a lot of time here.

As for other games I enjoy, lately I’ve been getting more into Skyrim and the Sims 2, as well as Role-Playing on Lord of the Rings Online.


Why you should be Helper?
As for why I should be a good helper, there’s a number of very good reasons. For one, I’m very dedicated towards the server. I spend lots of time working towards my town and for my residents, helping people, and having fun in general with my friends. I know and remember all of the modreq related commands and the prism commands, so I can figure out everything around the area and make sure I’ve gotten every detail. I know my way around all of the aspects of the server and am ready to answer almost any question relating to the server, forums, or teamspeak.


I spend quite a bit of time helping people and I’ve never truly stopped this act. I read nearly every line of chat and I answer every question I see, whether it’s on forums, In-game, or on Teamspeak. I make sure that the player is fully informed about whatever he/she asked, and make sure that the question is answered to the best of my abilities. I can do more than answer simple questions as well - whether through giving a player a bunch of food or adding him/directing him to a town, or many other ways.


In the fall of last year, me, my boyfriend, and another friend all grouped together and taught a dance class, one hour every Friday for 9 weeks with a small performance at the last day for their parents to show off what they've learned. During this, I spent a lot of time helping the kids, aged between six and a half to about thirteen, doing various steps and motions, explaining how to do a choreography that we, the teachers, created ourselves. Even in my normal dance classes I go to, I often help with my fellow classmates if they need it, whether it’s stretching or an actual dance or anything else that they need. I’ve worked with younger kids for a long time, and because of this I have more patience with them and I know how to answer questions in a way that they’d better understand.

Past events

As I’ve said before, I’ve been staff twice now. The first time was between two and three months, and the second was two months exactly. The first time I was staff, which was a year ago now, I’ll admit I was just… terrible. I was lazy, I did not file things I needed to for staff, I banned wrongly and didn’t ban when I should have, and that’s not even all of the issues.

The second time went from October 25 to December 25. I was actually better this time, I knew the job a lot better and was more prepared. I made a HUGE mistake, though. I was talking to a friend, and I won’t say the friend’s real name so we will call him Timmy. Me and Timmy were pretty good buddies at the time, and we cursed and made a lot of sexual and drug-related references and jokes. I took it MUCH too far, and even though I had permission from Timmy, the staff found it bad. Someone that made the extreme references I did should not be staff and should not represent the server. Upon looking back, I agree, this was really stupid of me. After I was demoted I basically threw a temper tantrum. I was negative about the server, many staff members, many valued community members, and just in general.

At the time, I made some other mistakes. I took drugs, and that further fueled my depression, which made me even more angry and upset at everyone. I stopped a few weeks ago, put my foot down. I’ve been trying to improve my attitude ever since. I’ve failed several times, but I feel as though I’m heading towards a better attitude every day now, by helping more, and trying to be a more positive person. I’ve apologized to players I’ve wronged and insulted before, and I apologize again here. I know full well what happened, and what went wrong. As for changing…

I know that I can do the job again, I want to help people again. I miss being helper very, very much. I want to help the server and new players, and I want to help the staff team as well. I’ve spent so much time on this server, through all the bugs, all the bad times, and all the good ones and I would never give up a moment of that. I love this community and it really and truly means a lot to me. I want to give back to the server again, as more than just a citizen. I want to help newer players, and older ones, and make sure that they’re time on meep is as good as possible.

If I am given this chance to become staff again, I promise, I swear, to strive to be the best that I ever could be and over-fulfill any expectation you guys have for me.


What are your weaknesses?
Negativity - Sometimes when I don’t like a player, idea, or maybe sometimes I’m upset, or maybe it’s honestly nothing, I can be negative and angry. I’ve often insulted people and have had issues with harassment. I’ve stopped the drugs and antidepressants I was on, and I’ve tried to look forward towards people and things in a more positive light.

Laziness- When I’m really tired, I can be really lazy too. I have been trying to get a lot more sleep as of late to further help this issues.

Monkey_Alex has proven herself many times that she is truly a dynamic character. Sure, she might have had issues in the past, but all of these issues stemmed from honestly and what she believed in. Monkey's trademark feisty and argumentative attitude is only because she is trying her hardest to do what's best for the server. That's what being a helper is all about.

Monkey_Alex is not afraid to be who she is. She will not change or askew her beliefs to conform to the ideal of a perfect staff member, which is the start to a phenomenal helper. This is why I've been pushing her to re-pursue her dream of becoming helper once again.

Being the perfect staff member is not being perfect.

At this time this is a clear -1, when I inferred down the road, I was meaning more months down the road. There is still too much stuff to work on, your attitude was quite horrible to everyone just weeks ago. People don't change that quick.

Whenever you post on forums or comment on something in game its usually rude/condescending. -1. Sorry, I would like to see it a +1 because you seem fit for staff, just your attitude needs a bit of tweaking. If you want start a conversation with me and I can help you a bit

 

Hey Alexia
So my only concerns stem from forum activity, and what little time ive spent with you personally in game. The thing I see the most is how you make very disrespectful and rude comments on forum posts, and staff apps. You seem to be easily angered and very sarcastic. It seems to me that you forget youre dealing with a very young gaming community, and your attitude tends to push people away. You have to be more acceptable and understanding when dealing with young kids. Were here to help mature, and protect our players, not offend them and push them away from gaming and the community.

On the other side, you know the server well and my time spent with you in game has been nothing but positive. I see you helping in global, and you have plenty of mature friends. I dont personally care what happened in the past because thats just part of life and we move on. You seem very intelligent and have a great personality. I like when youre on TS because its easy to laugh and spend time with you. Again I cant give a + or - on your app because I dont personally feel like i have a right to judge off the little bit of time ive spent with you and reading an app.

It sounds like from your application things in your personal life have been turned around and you are going in the right direction. That is great! I know sometimes in life we made decisions that looking back we wish we hadn't but for you to admit faults and move forward shows the person you have or can become. I hope regardless of good or bad days you keep moving in a positive direction. As far as the application for helper, you have done the right thing in listing your past issues including weaknesses.

A quote I respect and use often "time heals old wounds" I will add this..... What we do in that time depends if time will heal them.

Keep moving in the direction you are now and for the past couple weeks. Be the person you state you can be and others have said they have seen. Do this and re-apply when the actions and activity of the last weeks becomes your daily, weekly, and monthly way of life.

Good luck in life, you mentioned in the application you had an issue with drugs. I am glad to hear you have made a decision to control your own life and not let some additive control you. The only drug we need and that is safe for us all is happiness. I look forward seeing you in game and hope to see another application in the future.
