When did you join Meepcraft? late october 2013
Introduction: Hello! My name is june/madison/eximius. I’m 16 and a junior in high school. I’m interested in environmental or civil engineering when I graduate because I want to help improve the world. A few days out of the week I tutor middle school students in various subjects. I’m also on my school’s tennis team. I’ll be on the swim team in early-winter as well. I was helper on Meepcraft in the spring of 2014 for about one (way cool and super fun) month. Surprisingly, my skills that I learned from a whole year ago as helper really transferred to tutoring skills; things like organisation and patience really go a long ways. I started playing Meep again around July of this year because I was messing around in single-player, and I remembered how fun Meep was, so here I am.
Why should you be Helper? My main reason is pretty basic honestly: I want to help the server in it’s all-encompassing greatness. I always try to think of new ideas for the server and I make sure I'm up-to-date with the rules and such. I think the community is really great and it would be a pleasure to help everyone in different ways.
Experience: This is probably the most paramount reason of the bunch. I was a helper on Meepcraft from late March to early May. I was quite hardworking. I would stay up late and wake up early to help the community. I stayed organised with folders and lists, so I wouldn’t loose track of anything. This is when I really got to know the community as well. I was making sure I could form some kind of bond, however small, with the person I was helping. I didn’t limit myself to /modreqs either. I would float around from server to server to make sure everyone was having a fun time, like helping someone start a Skyblock world or a town. While I’m not up-to-par on Prism, when learning HawkEye I took everyone’s advice and became a pro with that. My experience covers most aspects that’s needed for a helper, and I believe I could thrive in the updated-Meepcraft as well.
Motivation: This is something I believe I have improved on a lot. Before, if I was working on a project for a few days, I would get burnt out and quit. Recently, I’ve been working on finding the silver lining in everything that I do, which motivates me to finish whatever it is that I’m doing. This has a lot to do with looking at the big picture, so that I don’t look at all of the small details and beat myself up over those. It’s a bit like driving, if you look really close in front of the car, you tend to be more “squirrley”. On the converse side, when looking straight ahead, all of the small jolts work themselves out and the car becomes smooth/stable. All in all, motivation is the key to setting goals and keeping at them, which I think is one of the main ingredients of being a great helper.
What are your weaknesses? I’m a complete introvert (please google it if you don't know what it is.) . Now I know some may say “oh, but that’s ok! just accept yourself and all will be well!” but in the society we live in, being an extrovert is so important! It lets you speak up for yourself in a jumble of people or make new friends. This is a pretty hard thing for me but I do make small steps to improve this aspect of my life, like saying “hello” to people I don’t normally say hello to or maybe complimenting someone if they look nice. I recall when I was staff in 2014 I was scared of most of the other staff for no apparent reason. I wouldn’t even want to go on TeamSpeak because I was so nervous. It’s not like they were mean or anything, I was just psyching myself out. I’ve worked on this by actually making conversation with people in TeamSpeak and in-game. Not only am I working on myself, but I’m also making lasting relations with the community.
Please give any other information you might think is useful for us to know: I haven't been on teamspeak that often in the past month-ish. That's mainly because of tennis, which ends in just one week! That also means that I'll be online more often! yay! I can only be on TeamSpeak for certain hours, but I don't think it's that restricting (msg me if you want more info on that.)
also! my in-game-name is eximius_ but I will be changing it back on the 26th of october.
Thank you for taking the time to read my application.cooey, Summers, Deljikho and 1 other person like this.
