New CTF Maps

Hello Meepcraft! A few fellow players and I were wondering, if there were new Capture the Flag maps, what would you expect out of them? Is there a specific theme, design, or idea you would like? Also, is there anything you're disappointed in with the maps we are using right now? Post here if you have an idea!

 

I have planned out a map and taking suggestions like adding lapis and much more so I hope things will run smoothly and we hope you shall enjoy it!

I recall talking a bit about this on ts yesterday. The mobs in the "newer" map (with the hotair balloons and stuff, I forgot what it was called) is a bit overkill for me. I'm not sure what you guys think, but I've spoken to a few other players and they also agree. And the ability to enchant stuff as well?

 

That's why the enchantment tables are in it, the creator intended for players to enchant but the new update came when you needed lapis when it was brought out. That hence the reason why there are so many mobs.

 

New maps won't bring in people, we need a whole new capture the flag.

 

@Pmx728, how would you do this if we needed more than a new map? Is there a rule that bothers you?

 

First of all, there should only be 2 teams, and no mining. The point of capture the flag is to take the flag back to your side. I wouldn't even call meeps CTF, capture the flag tbh. Also teams are unbalanced and Meeps CTF isn't fun at all.

 

I respect your opinion but there are a decent amount of players that do enjoy CTF. You wouldn't even call it CTF? The way to win is capture the flags and I also agree that team balance needs to be fixed.

 

New maps would be great! I really feel like CTF needs a change and new maps would be perfect.

@Kling @Pmx728 I think that CTF is kind of boring. I like Halo because I can join in and start right away. Having to mine for 10 minutes and ultimately get killed with your stuff. That's just discouraging. I would like to see meeble rewards for kills also.

If no one plays CTF, you can say it's boring ..

 

I love CTF! It is a very easy way to earn meebles. Cit or Ult you get a lot of meebles! Adding a new map would be awesome, because it is getting a little boring with just 2 maps.

The Game:
I thought that CTF was about grabbing the enemy's flag, and bring it back to your base, while using teamwork to make sure the flag carrier lives to 'cap' it. Not stand on their flag and wait to capture it (sounds like domination to me...)

Meep's CTF usually relies on one person in a full diamond armor set, destroying anyone who dares leave the safety of their spawn. This discourages a lot of people to play when they know that they'll get wrecked 99% of the time. Also, if you're going to have mining in this game mode, at least make it to where we mine iron blocks in the mine instead of ores. This would Make the game feel a LOT FASTER.

The maps:

Make the maps a RED VS BLUE kind of thing. Like others have said, It would be a lot more fun having only 2 teams that have 6ish people per team (obviously more if people played the game) Make the maps a 2-lane way (2 different paths to capture the flag,) and have some maps with more of an open feel where you can ambush on their weakest side.

Themes: (of course these sound like some maps you've seen from other servers)

Make a space theme map where you can fall into the void
Make a few blocks of a city with cars on the street and ways to get into buildings
Heaven V.S. Hell kind of map

These are just a couple of themes that took about a few mins to come up with...

 

Personally I love this idea. but pmx is right too! When I wanna be on a team with peri and kling I sometimes don't get that option. having 2 teams and no mining would be a great idea. Maybe a Lord of the rings themed map would be cool too. And not just capturing a flag. take a flag and run back to base with it. We need more games as well!

 

The ctf map I want are ones that look like the old colony ctf map which in a nutshell is a bunch of flat land with a giant object in the middle with loot in it and 4 mini healing bases between each of the 4 teams. Thats the ctf I want to see return, no need to bring in any new fancy plugins that make capturing a flag easier or any fancy mineshafts that let miners get killed by the guy running around with a sword trying to get easy diamonds or different then what happened before meep nations ever existed.
