I'm Tired Of This...

I'm tired of watching this server shoot itself over and over in the foot. I want to know something: when will Meepcraft care about player count? This server has gone from the top to rock bottom and I guarantee that it will go farther down if we don't do something now.

We have to stop wasting money on plugins nobody knows or cares about. If we spent time and effort into a server that people were familiar with, numbers would go up, we'd make money (since that's what makes Meepcraft run), and we'd be able to have the money left over to waste it on unique plugins.

It hurts me to watch such a great server go from top dog to absolute trash. After MeepNetworks, we thought we were dying once we were hitting 300 players max.

@Fuzzlr called 300 a hamlet. What is this now? We cannot hit 200 players at all. Where has unique taken us? DOWN THE DRAIN. You all act like this doesn't matter, but it does. Sooner or later, Meepcraft will have diminished enough to the point where you'll realize what's going on, but it'll be too late because we won't have a player base to build upon. Although popular gamemodes might not be attractive to you players, it's what we need here to revive the community.

Before you comment saying that this is all false, look at facts and try to argue my point. I tried my hardest to use only facts in this.

 

I kind of agree. I haven't been on much lately, but every time I log on there are less than 200 people online. While I am certainly not Fuzzlr, I think something needs to change in this situation. It really is a shame because I remember a time when we had 500 people on all the time.

That being said, not everything is the Staff's fault. They cannot force people to come. They rely on word of mouth form player to player. Perhaps less people are playing Minecraft in general now that Microsoft bought it. Perhaps our advertisements go unnoticed. There are all lot of variables in this situation, and I think it would be wise not to openly criticize people who are not fully responsible.

The main reason is that Fuzzlr and the staff are too scared to take risks, the server will always be like it currently is without anything major implemented. The most we will get is a couple new donor commands or a new mini game map every 6 odd months.

 

The problem isn't all in what gamemodes we have, it's that they aren't maintained. Infected and hunger games, arguably the most popular minigames, have both been down for months!
That's the kind of thing that makes us lose players. Look at picture on the front page of the forums. "Media positions now open, submissions end June 23rd"....2015!!!!
That does not make us look like a thriving community, it makes us look like a dead one. A player sees an advertisement, Hunger games or infected, come for it, ask what happened to it, gets some snotty answer that "omg11!!!1!1!!1! They been down for months when will people learn fr gds saKe11!1!". Would you say "community seems rude, their games are broken, I'm now gonna move on to towny" or would you say "LOL gonna go find another server"?? This happens everyday.

I totally agree. Popular games have been down for too long, and the ones we have are broken or suck. The server is basically towny and kitpvp + halo

 

This is also the main reason why I've become so inactive in-game and rarely show up. Meepcraft is so boring nowadays, unlike when it first was made in 2012. I found Meepcraft one of my most favorite servers when I first got Minecraft, and spent hours here. After the server was reset in 2013, I later rejoined in the summer of 2014, and I still question "Where's all the fun?" What happened to the fun minigames that we had? Where did everyone go? Why is the server just boring?
Unless if Fuzzlr actually gets his act together and comes up with a solution, we won't be as popular as we used to be anymore.

 

I agree, who cares about a new spawn when they won't be around to play with all the broken, "unique" minigames?

This is now a hamlet with dying, unsuccessful, crops and the townspeople have some sort of plague that infects anyone who enters their town (it's that contagious)

Fuzzlr has been neglecting the condition of the server, in fact, he doesn't log on or give that many updates anymore

 

You have to remember prior to mn minecraft was relatively new. Now it's pretty old people have seen it done it.
The only place it's still flying is on the 360.
The player count will keep going down the older the game gets its only large servers that will keep them. I'm sorry to dash anyone's dreams but this server will never reach that hight.
And I'm a positive thinker.

 

Not only that, but the server became way too unique. They think that being unique is the best route, which in many cases it is, but when your playerbase is falling apart and you've seen now the worst numbers ever, unique is obviously not working. You won't be worrying about that now, but once the server is losing money, cannot stay online, we have 50 players max, and the server is about to get shut down, you are going to be really upset you didn't change from unique to less-unique. Adding more popular gamemodes isn't destroying the server; it's a gateway for new players to see a gamemode they like and to eventually move on to our unique gamemodes. Look at all unique servers. Unique servers get popular gamemodes, then once they got a playerbase, they added unique gamemodes. It's the only way.

 

I kind of agree and dissagree.
With this spawn you come out of tutorial and Instantly see a way of making money on left. Towns to right mini games in front. These are the first things new players will care about. And should be the first thing at spawn they cařn explore later for bank etc because they don't get used that often. But the spawn was so open felt like a year to get anywhere.

 

You know what's funny?
They spend lots of money for a horrible cheap plug ins which then stops working, like hunger games and infected, at this point your not spending money your wasting money. oh and btw NO ONE WANTED THE NEW UGLY SPAWN, waste of 2 grand.

 

I think before someone comments an angry post about how bad the decisions are that the staff is making, and how DOING THIS will fix the server, they should ask themselves if they have any idea how meep is actually run financially, how server advertisements work, and the general trend of minecraft server popularity from 2012 to now. Meepcraft has gone the way of every video game community ever. It grows and hits a peak then steadily declines until it is mostly committed players. The fact that the server has stayed up and active for 4 years is an impressive feat, and people should be thankful for that instead of bashing the people who have worked hard to keep the server up. Obviously the staff should always be working to better the server, but at a certain point people just need to realize that meep's player count decline isn't necessarily caused by a certain thing being done wrong, but the fact that video games get old, and people move on from them.

 

Typical Meepcraft lmao. The server's never going to recover from meepnetworks. If Fuzzlr wasn't making money off of this, there would be no Meepcraft. I don't see much more potential on Meepcraft then I see on Horneman's server. The only thing good about Meepcraft is the community & towns lol.
