Vkl you're a chill guy but I can't ever see you as a staff member.

I've personally spent dozens of hours on cases that directly or indirectly involve you. From spreading underage nudes of fellow meepers to exploiting bugs that could make you millions of meebles, you seem to have broken every rule that the server has laid out. I would not trust you to uphold these rules and follow them to the spirit of the letter as a staff member. You've poven time and time again that when you get the trust of the staff you will break that trust and do something completely idiotic. Others are saying not to hold your past against you but that's completely asinine, the past teaches us about the present and the future, you've definitely taught us you're completely unfit for this and that you're likely to do something illegal once you simply get bored again (your own words dude).

Vkl I don't ever see you post anything constructive on Meepcraft forums, I don't see you helping people, creating suggestions, improving suggestions, welcoming members, etc etc. Every other post you've made is a Ban Appeal, I've seen people denied because they were banned one time 3 months prior to their app! To consider you for the position after making those type of denials would be completely illogical.

What exactly makes you an asset to the team? What do you bring to the team that nobody else can bring? What is your wow factor that would make the team think "we absolutely need this guy"? You only make short statements then don't even proceed to support the staments with logic or evidence, at 18 years old you should be able to do much better than "I think I could help".

Additionally in your weaknesses you state this:

Firstly you are supposed to change and show improvement before you get accepted, not after. Why can you not be mature now, but expect to magically improve just because you have a Helper tag next to your name? What is holding you back from being mature now??

Again, why can you not control your temper now, but you except you to magically be able to control it "if need be"? You're basically saying if you get helper then you'll magically not be toxic without giving any evidence or real plans on how you expect to combat your weaknesses. For someone to put that little effort into their app, with as many bans as you have, should be an automatic denial.

In short I do not, and cannot, trust you. Your actions and words in the past have shown me your character well enough to make a judgement on your future. You put such little effort into this app that it seems like its all a joke. And seriously you lost mostly all of my respect when I was working the case that involved you spreading underage nude photos of a fellow meeper, it's a disgusting show of character that does not embody the staff team at all.

it's not really surprising that veteran staff are -1 and newer staff are +1. i don't mean to put newer staff down, they just don't know what we had to go through.

vkl we get along. but you have time and time again shown you can't maintain the facade. i know you will leak info and will show in time that you are not staff material. im fairly certain
the only reason we get along is because im not staff anymore.

staff, please trust the oldest member of your team (andrew) and other people who worked through this. andrew and i have been dealing with vkl for 3 years.

My posts were deleted for not wanting vkl as staff. "Shut up n00b your posts were just deleted because it said LOOOL". Okay, I see where you're coming from, but then how come this post still exists?

because it has a +1 in it. Klitch says the staff don't worship vkl, some do. Do i think klitch does? No. Do I think a certain admin and a certain supermod does? Yes. And it saddens me, as these 2 staff members are some of if not the best current staff members.
If certain staff didn't worship him, he would still be banned. Like June said, it's a joke in itself that he has been unbanned time and time again after staff said 'Never again'. And now he's going for helper. I would laugh, but the truth is he's probably already accepted.

Let me tell you exactly what my earlier post said. I quoted summrs, added another LOL, and stated that this was ridiculous. Then vkl replied to me, saying that just because I wasn't staff anymore didn't mean I was 'all tough'. Great reply from a future staff member. He then went and continued on my profile.

This guy is as unreliable as it gets. He will say he's an improved person and get banned the next. He will post a goodbye thread and apply for staff the next. He didn't even touch on his ban appeals, at all, in his application. Not one word. Oh wait, there is one. He says Over the last 4 months I have only obtained 1 ban. And he got unbanned from that ban a month ago. But hey, bug abusing one month and becoming staff the next is fine as long as you suck up to cour-- uhh muun-- uhh the staff team all day.


At the end of the day, vkl, you have too many bans. You're not qualified, and you most likely never will be qualified for staff on this server. Just keep playing the server, and enjoying it. But you being recruited is essentially just the staff asking for problems.

Introduction: Hello, my name is Frank but you guys know me as VKL. I'm 18 years old and I live in New Jersey. I'm into any sort of technology(mostly) and networking. I graduated high school in June of 2016 and I'm currently not in college so I figured I could use this interest a lot more since I have free time.

Why should you be Helper? I believe I should be a Helper on Meepcraft because I like to think that I am qualified enough and could be a great asset to the staff team. I'm not too close with many staff members but the ones I am close to do a good job and I think I could make the staff team ever greater than it already is. Most of the time I'm on Meep I'm usually just sitting afk talking to my friends but I think being staff would be a good thing for me because it would give me stuff to do when I'm not building for my town and it would benefit the server with the work ethic I have that would get many modreqs done a day.

Over the last 4 months I've only obtained one ban which was for bug abuse and I really regret that now because it looks as if I haven't changed. I think since coming back I have matured(while there's still immaturity in me) enough to handle a staff position on the server.

My dedication to the server could be very well appreciated by the staff team because I'm usually on all night in EST timezone usually until 5am or so and I don't see many staff members on and it can get a little hectic at those times.

What are your weaknesses? Maturity is probably the biggest weakness of mine, but at the moment I'm working on that. I can be immature at times as you can tell in /shout or just if you know me personally. I think if I was to be accepted for Helper that it would change greatly and i would have no problems taking my work seriously and acting in a mature way unlike the old VKL.

Temper could be another weakness as I sometimes get frustrated when some people act up in shout and I might yell at them a little bit but I can control that with no problems need be.

just to clarify my position, yes i agree people can change, but a banhistory that spans over 3 years is indicative of his inability to change his behavior.

I feel like i'm the only staff that is -1, I do know you will do an alright job as staff just The history we had with you is very troubling and puts a huge dent in my Vote, The fact that each time we gave you a chance it ended up with you being banned again. IF you become staff you have to leave the past you out of it. No more trouble making or issues for the staff from now on.

No. You cannot compare your app's length to anyone else's whose app was accepted. This is about what you can bring to the table, not who can bring more.

If anything you should've addressed your ban history, because if you didn't it looks like you are trying to hide that you had 69 bans.

Overall thoughts - As much as I like you as a person in the few encounters that I've had with you, I cannot trust you to be staff. You have the longest ban history of anyone on Meep and it isn't like all the bans were from over a year ago. There were some from this year too. You're known as some ban master who knows you can be unbanned because it will only be some time before staff unban you. It's actually painful to see that staff are still willing to keep you unbanned after so long. To add, your app was short. Very painfully short. Had staff not liked you as much as they like you know they would've laughed their heads off and denied your app because of how often you were banned and then trying to get staff.

But that's not how you're supposed to react to people who disagree with you. As a staff member, you will have some detractors of your work. Calling them "haters" is quite immature and doesn't show that you're open to opposing opinions.

You understand the rules and I know you will be a chill staff member that the comunity will like. It will also give me a reason to stay, it will be quite interesting. +1

 

Keep in mind that the +1's are for interview. My vote has swayed tremendously from application to interview on many occasions, and this situation will not stray from that possibility due to VKL being a friend to many.

You know a lot about the server, you're awesome to talk to on teamsp I mean discord what is teamspeak now. You have been very good the past months and I think you'd do a great job as staff with your knowledge and fun nature. Best of luck huge +1 from me I've been waiting for this.

Absolutely a +1.
You're a hard worker, and you have the perfect mindset for this. I think you'd do extremely well as helper, and even mod, and be able to go beyond just a staff member. I honestly think you'd do great with this.

Ban history and your past is somewhat an issue - but consider often that he hasn't been banned often in the past year. And even then, its nowhere near as big of a deal as some of the pasts that we've accepted - Look at me, n00b, chaos, among others. I know that's gonna be people's biggest reason to -1, and I don't even think its as big of a deal as people will make it out to be.

I've had nothing but positive and amusing experiences with you. I have confidence you'd do well.

@CluelessKlutz You say you're only looking at the past 2-3 months, and ignoring his bans, what you are forgetting is that he was unbanned 1 MONTH AGO.

I can't believe that the staff are willing to look past the stuff he has done and is doing right now. Had any other applicant given responses like

and many more, they would have been instantly denied. But because the staff like vkl so much, they're willing to look past that and give him staff. Like I said previously, by staff recruiting this guy, they are simply asking for trouble.

To everyone saying "The past is the past" he is still doing it. Shall I remind you a sixth time he was unbanned from bug abusing only a month ago.
In my 2 months as staff I lost count of how many times I had to look into cases where he killed people in his town and at his casino. Technically legal, but completely useless and unnecessary, and certainly not something I'd want a staff member to do. (See: Banning people from his casino simply because he doesn't like them).
When I first made a -1 response on this application he brought up my ban history and started throwing light insults! This guy is not staff material. And the fact the staff are blind to that in their bias is ridiculous.

You know something is wrong when the two people who also have a history of severe toxicness (see: myself and @PseudoGod ) and have turned themselves around are -1'ing this guy. If anyone is open to second chances it is us. But this is not a second chance. This is a 70th chance.

This guy is a troublemaker where ever he goes. It's a joke that he's unbanned. If he becomes staff, the whole server becomes a joke.



And vkl, before you give one of the usual replies you have been giving on this thread (something like "lol ok xd thanks for the feedback I will consider it yup yup" which is almost trolling in itself), let me say that I am not biased against you. I think you're pretty chill in game. But you are not staff material on this server, and you most likely never will be. Being a good player for a month is certainly not enough to change my opinion, try closer to a year.

Yes so mature. My apologies for using the way you harassed a little girl on Meep to judge your character. Its quite apparent you've definitely learned a vaued lesson from that mistake. You're clearly ready for this position.

I never said he had to be mature for the position. What I did say was that he needs to work on his weaknesses before getting accepted, not after. His post says "I think this would be fixed if I got Helper" and I'm trying to understand how he magically expects that to happen. Which now I realize he didn't even make a valid response to that question, or any of my questions, he just says "yup cool story bro".

I'm using this point against VKL for two reasons. 1) It's a solid display of his character. In at least two instances in this thread we have examples of him being trusted with something sensitive and he has betrayed the people that trusted him. Would staff be able to trust him not to leak info? 2) The person that sent them to VKL isn't applying for staff, VKL is. Why would I make a rant about her when she's not even on the server anymore? That is why he's singled out. He shared the images on Klutch's general TS chat, and harassed the girl in game about the ordeal which is why staff HAD to get involved.

It's good that somebody took the time to address my concerns, too bad it wasn't the applicant :/ My two response limit is up so I can't really add anything else. I'm still a very strong -1.

Edit: To anyone asking what does the team have to lose by adding VKL, the answer is Integrity.

 

To tell you the truth Deljikho, this response makes perfect sense and I'd like to formally concede my argument that the past doesn't mean anything. Although I agree with you on almost every point you make, I don't understand some points of criticisms you have against VKL. I'm not trying to invalidate them, I just want you to expand on them.

I hate, and absolutely hate, the phrase "You need to be mature to become a staff member". I'm in firm denial to this. Time after time again, Meepcraft's best staff members, such as Deinen and Rosenow, have been absolutely great without getting out of their way to become mature. Being mature makes you boring. I'd argue that personalities such as VKL are one of the best qualities for becoming a staff member, maybe to a bit less of an extreme. I think staff members who don't attempt to be mature are the only ones with character and liveliness, and the only ones that aren't reduced to some mindless hallway monitor when they get the position as staff.

As of the nudes point. Honestly, I don't know who gave VKL the nudes, but regardless, I think you don't have a right to insult him about them. Just to clarify, I don't know if the person who gave him nudes allowed him to share it with other people, but what I do know for sure is that it should have been a private altercation that Meepcraft staff shouldn't have hard about. The blame should be placed just as much on the giver of the picture than VKL, too, this shouldn't be a one sided street where VKL did all the wrong. Its almost like if I used the point that you cheated on a math test and said you shouldn't get helper because of it, two different environments that shouldn't really be mixed. You do have a right to lose respect for him, though.

As of the point that he doesn't help at all. I popped on meep for 15 minutes last night and VKL was helping at every opportunity, I don't log in much but for the 15 minutes I was in game he said nothing suggestive or inappropriate and was very helpful.


I have a prediction that VKL is joining staff in the hopes that he'll have a lot of fun with it. When he realizes how tedious staff is, like I did so myself, I think he'll either break a rule to get demoted or resigned. But I say give him the chance. What do we have to lose?
