Town Hall Meetings

An old towny server I used to play on had meetings in TeamSpeak where the staff would answer questions from players and tell them what's going on with new updates, kind of like a Q & A. These meetings would be held once or twice a month and would improve communication between citizens and staff. An example meeting would go like this:

Staff can speak but citizens are muted in the channel

Staff: Welcome to the [date] meeting. Let's start with recent updates.

Another staff member: Recently, we have been investigating the possibility of [some update and details]...

Another staff member: Alrighty, let's get in to the discussion part. Who has something to say?

Citizen: [types something in chat that indicates a message. gets unmuted by staff and has a dialogue with staff that all other players can hear]

Staff: [response to comment / suggestion] [Mutes player and repeats the question process]

During this time, someone (staff or citizen) should take minutes of the meeting that could be incorporated in to MeepTimes.

Staff: [conclusion]

That's all. Obviously, the idea is open to change. There is certainly a benefit to these types of meetings.

 

We had town hall meetings as well, it would be lovely to do again. +1

 

We've had town hall meetings before. However, it'd be a pain to do due to the fact that not many staff members are left with the right times, since every staff member lives somewhere else apart from each other. It'd be nice to have but the time and effort for it to happen (and some admins don't know how to use discord xdddd he probably knows who I'm talking about xddd)

 

We did have town meetings in the past and they were great. It allowed real time question and answer sessions. It also allowed staff time to speak to everyone regarding changes, updates, and things in the works.

(The time zones did cause some issues in the past but we would start a thread allowing players to ask questions in advance that we would answer at the meetings. Also for those who could not attend we had a really great staffer who would put the meeting in a thread in text so all could see)

 

I'd be a +1 from me, I like talking to staff on discord! Also, maybe just make a youtube channel or whatever where we can listen to a recording of the chat? (maybe get a couple extra members from that, idk though) might be good fun!

It sounds pretty easy, the staff merely has to talk to us for an hour every week, not a huge time commitment at all really.
If you need anyone to record them, I'd be happy to do that for you guys! (#Zamosformedia2018?)
I'd recommend the hour of 7PM (Central Time) on Friday, since most American players and some older English players are online then.
The idea sounds great to me, but the question is WHICH staff? My personal recommendation would be Lord and the Supermods.
