add minimap ruling to 'rules'

hello, right now the only thing that comes close to saying that minimaps are illegal is that

• Any x-ray related mod/texture pack/glitch

are not allowed. minimaps, whose main purpose is to provide a player with a map of their nearby surroundings, happen to have the spawner-finding-feature which is the "X-ray related" part.
I think I've heard something about re-writing the rules but in the short term I think this is a rule that should be added.
it would take a bullet point and writing "no minimap mods allowed"; maybe a minute.

it would be beneficial because a player wouldn't have to ask staff (which can take way longer than needed) if minimap-mod-name-here is allowed on the server.

There's also the list of mods, the ONLY legal mods, and minimaps are not on there.

true, but the whole confusion is that minimaps aren't listed as illegal either. so listing them as illegal will eliminate the hassle of double checking with a staff member; it's basically a convince and clarity thing.

 

I'm surprised this is an issue, I'm pretty sure minimaps were mentioned in the old rules. Regardless, +1

 

Rules are being reworked at this time, but minimaps are allowed so long as they do not show locations of players, mobs, or anything else that isn't anything but a map.

 

can we add that to the 'accepted' section in the mean-time please? see OP for reasons why

 

They removed Rei's minimap apparently even though I never found the option that it can show entities.

 

There was some site where you could download it and it had entities, that's why it was removed from the list.
