Believe me, I hate that staff can do nothing about people violating teams, but this will just result in people saying they "teamed" with someone, when really it was just an ambush.

The only possible way I could see this working is if local and msg logs were checked. Still, this would mean you have to team in chat, rather than just the team gestures.

 

Staff cannot moderate this. While sure, it might be possible to prove that someone teamed with you 2 months ago, who's to say he hasn't unteamed you since then? Even if the team was more recent, changing the rule would result in a double-standard.

I think he was only referring to "teams" during that day, not long term teams.

 

Even if we had this rule, there would be wrongful bans.
If A is teamed with B, the B starts ti kill A, but A attacks back in self defense and wins, A is banned even though he was not the one that violated the rule.

This isnt a rule because you accept that risk when you go inti a pvp arena. Its not the same as lurijg because when you are lured you are unaware of the risk you are entering. When you go and jump into pvp you are usually well aware of that pvp arena existing...
Its too much of a mess to be able to be enforced.

 

Basically this. I think if it really was a rule, there'd be too many bad bans because of the situation. I don't think breaking a team is very honorable, but it falls under a quote from Abraham Lincoln: "Not all things that are legally right are morally right."

Despite how much I hate dishonesty, the rule needs to remain as-is.

 

Well, like others have said, staff cannot moderate teams in PvP.

This explains my view.

Once you jump into a PvP Arena, it's either kill or be killed.
