/Event Planner

Hey Meep I was thinking that when there is a planned event players should have a command that enables them to view the time and date of the next event scheduled in chat so they know when they can join.

Please feel free to share your ideas.

 

Events are not necessarily planned, whenever a SuperMod or a Admin gets on, and they feel up to host an event, they will host one.

 

Well, a lot of the time Events aren't even planned. A staff member just feels like it. -1

 

Every event I've been to has been completely random. Half are when I get on, the other half in which I ask @junelawnchaired or @Jess_4Ds to start one. In most cases, they say yes (unless reggles is working in Event [inside reference]) so I think this isn't really necessary. Event isn't supposed to be a regular thing, just a one-off random thing to get people to actually do something.

Events are meant to be random. The only time I announce one is if it is a special event for like a tournament or something worth a lot of meebles.

 

The only time its planned is when Jess or June plan on it. Like mothers day, or a tournament. -1

 

I think people are missing the big picture. This shouldn't be accepted because the randomness is what makes events so special! If I know that there would be an event at this time and that time, it wouldn't be as exciting compared to a staff member being like "Event @ /warp event".

 

The point of an event is a fun game that could just happen whenever a staff feels like it. The excitement comes from not knowing when it'll happen, instead of it always being planned. Besides, starting an event at a certain time is just another responsibility that a staff member has to remember about. It's a lot easier to just do it whenever instead of staff members trying to scramble and do it according to the schedule.
