Anyway, to drop my little egg on the topic here, I believe the idea of GMO's is revolutionary, and a great idea. As with most revolutionary ideas, people can have a hard time accepting them. Unfortunately, the problem in the system is humans, as some try to exploit it to make cash for themselves. The human factor can ruin it.

We've actually covered the green revolution in school recently, and some facts I can remember are:
Positive:

Thanks, to GMO plants, farm productivity has increased a LOT.

Plants can grow in drier regions than before.

Plants can grow faster than usual.

Negative:

GMO seeds cost much more than usual.

Farmers have to buy new seeds each harvest, they can't use what they grew.

No genes other than human genes correspond with us, that's why we're human. We see these diseases less because of vaccines and health care. GMOs can increase crop yield, solving a hunger crisis. They can be modified to withstand lower temperatures, making them easier to grow. They can be modified to taste better or have more nutritional value.

This would've happened anyway through selective breeding, we're just speeding up the process.

Then, you say something incredibly dishonest. That there is a lack of evidence on both sides, to cover yourself for a lack of evidence on your side.

I presented an example.

You asked for more evidence.

I presented 5 examples.

You don't address a single word of what's been said, then say that you're "sticking to your opinion".

On the flip side:

You have presented zero examples.

I asked you to present evidence.

You said that it was up to me to prove you wrong.

I showed that this is not true (Burden of Proof), and that you still need to present evidence.

You say that 'There is a lack of evidence on both sides. There is no scientific consensus/conclusion yet.'

That is a complete lie. Demonstrably so, from the comments in this thread.

I'm asking, pleading with you here. For the 3rd time. Where is your evidence that GMOs are bad for you?

If you make a claim, it's up to you to prove it. This is logic101 here.

I JUST WROTE AN ESSAY LAST WEEK ON THIS

So, I think GMOs are good.
GMOs
1. Provide means to resist pests and certain diseases
2. Provide food, which will be a huge problem in the future (still kinda is today; but the way we are expanding as a population will continue to surge)
3. Provide a means of improved nutrients, taste, etc
4. Provide a possible solution for growing foods on other planets in the future

Literally the opening sentence of my essay: We have been genetically modifying foods for as long as crops have been domesticated.
You know bananas are nothing like actual bananas? They were genetically modified - through selective breeding, yes - but in essence, same concept. We wouldn't have a _ton_ of the food we have today if it weren't for humans messing with nature - tis what we seem to do. GMOs are really just the next step.

Besides, Zambia denied 40k tons of GMO food for their country. 30% of which faces starvation.
One of the studies done (anti-gmo) found that there MIGHT be a link between GMOs and increased allergies.
Would you rather starve, or get a few sniffles?
Like, really.
