Depends. Are you talking about singular or plural? "Larvae" means plural, and "Larv-AY" is the only correct pronunciation of that. "Larva" is singular, and "Larv-UH" is the only correct pronunciation of that. That word shouldn't be on this list.
Technically, "Mis-CHAV-ous" is the only correct pronunciation.

Also, what's the difference between Care-a-mel and Care-e-mel? Wouldn't they both make the ə sound?

 

I've heard people pronounce the middle with a long "e". So Care-e-mel would sound like Care-ee-mel. However with Care-a-mel, I've heard people pronounce it with a short "a". So Care-a-mel. There's that slight difference in how the middle of the word sounds. Personally, I pronounce it has "Car-mel".
