Intro:
Hello, everyone, I'm Legokev1999, but many of you just know me as Kevin. I live in a small town in the northeast corner of the Hoosier state of Indiana.

I've always enjoyed building things. When I was 4, I started playing with Lego building blocks. (I still play with them every now and then.) Since my first Lego set, I've developed a huge interest in creating things. When I was younger, I enjoyed sports. I played soccer and basketball until I was 10. At one basketball game in 2009, I got light-headed, started to see spots and I passed out on the court. I went to the doctor and found out that a birth defect in my heart (that my parents were told had healed when I was a baby) had returned, and I wouldn't be able to play sports anymore. At that point, I devoted almost all of my time to my Legos. In 2011, when I first found Minecraft, I saw a new, virtually unlimited alternative to the plastic toys. I found a way to create buildings and machines in a whole new way, unfettered by the laws of physics.

Meep was the first server I played on. I first logged onto Meep in May of 2012, but I didn't really start investing myself into the community until that October. I played with a few IRL friends of mine, and met some new friends through Towny, friends that I still stick with today. A few went on to become staff, and I heard from them how rewarding the job could be.

Why:
I believe I am worthy of being staff because I would like to help the community. (Original thought, I know.) But really, I want to teach people and be a good example.

My favorite part of this server is it's community. When I first started, very few people even acknowledged I existed. Three people helped me along my towny experience for the first few months. They showed me commands, how to make money, and how to start a town. Then I met my closest friend on Meep. I made a town with him and helped him build. When that town was griefed, we made another town. And when his account was hacked, I waited for him to get an alt, and we made a town for that account. Over the months, me and that friend made 6 towns. During this time, my friends taught me things.
I learned all of the towny commands, how to run the micro-community that is a large town, how to be patient with new players, and how to teach others like my friends had taught me. I believe I should be given a chance as staff so that I can help new players learn to enjoy the server. I intend to be a good example for others to follow.

Weaknesses:

Temper:
This is one I have been working on for quite some time. I tend to have a bit of a hot streak, and in the past, if I got mad, I didn't handle it well. I would often complain and hold grudges if I felt I was slighted. I have worked on this, however, and I rarely have problems with this anymore, but I just thought I would mention it.

Game time:
Because of limits placed on me by schoolwork and job, I can only play about an hour a day. I would spend all of this time fulfilling my duties as staff.

Lying:
I had issues in the past with being a compulsive liar. This issue has been mostly resolved, but in times of very high stress I need to think carefully about what I say. This is only as issue if I am very upset, very mad, or very nervous.

The condensed and bullet-pointed summary:

*Experience: I have played on this server actively for almost a year and a half. I have learned things from my friends and intend to be like them and help others.
*Work Ethic: I intend to spend all of my in-game time fulfilling my duties as staff.
*Involvement: I do my best to stay active in the community, keeping up to date with everything going on, however, my in-game time is limited.
* Weaknesses: My nature is to hold a grudge, something I am working on. My game time is limited by IRL stuff. I tend to lie if I am very nervous.
*Justification: I love the community and I want to help build it back up to the way it was before MN. I want to see a close-knit group of players, working with each other to build the server up to greatness.

 

Great app, but...
1 hour per day??? I'm sorry that's not enough. I've never seen you on, nor helping.
You can't be staff if you can only play 1 hour a day.
That's possibly the only reason I'm going to -1 this, but it is a huge glaring problem.
I cannot +1 this if you don't have the time.

+/- I think you have differently over come your problem with lying by putting that in your weaknesses
I want you to become helper cause you are really nice and helpful but i no down inside that 1 hour a day is not enough

 

I dont see you on the forums much, IG activity could be improve and I dont see you on teamspeak much. I dont see you helping people in chat either -1 for me but good luck!

It barely seems to matter how long you are on each day, I know plenty of these new helpers that are barely online.

1 hour is not enough time if you are a staff member.

 

We understand your time dilemma. Real life matters (School & family) ALWAYS more important than a game. Unfortunately we need staff that can be a bit more active. If you become more available in the future, please file another app!
