Low Donor Perks

When I rejoined meepcraft, I was surprised to find that so much had changed about the server. Lots of new and fun mingames, new kitpvp kits that were finally fair to the F2P players (though not perfectly balanced "cough" squire "cough"). I was very excited about the terrarium rework and many other great improvements that the wonderful staff have made.

One thing that wasn't such a pleasant surprise was the donor spawn. I noticed that it felt rather empty. And there wasn't much to do. I asked in global chat "What are the perks of the donor spawn" and a supreme who was online told me that the "free gold" sign was really the only perk of the donor spawn. The last time that I knew the donor spawn was the main perk of buying the VIP rank.

Later I learned about the donor shops, I thought that they had been removed with the spawn rework, but thankfully I was wrong. I went into the VIP shop and saw that you can buy and sell wood logs. Specifically acacia, spruce, and birch... Why did people put wood into the VIP shop? Now don't get me wrong I love meepcraft. But when did people start paying 10$ for permission (yes permission not actually buying it) to buy an item that is abundant all over minecraft. Half doubting that I was really in the VIP shop I walked to the place labeled Premium shop. The first item I saw was Dark Oak logs... Most of the other items were red stone repeaters, hoppers, and obsidian. The obisidian I agree with. But why should I pay $20 so that I can buy red stone items, which are also excessively abundant all over minecraft? Slightly worried I walked to the exclusive shop. And I saw enchantment tables, bookshelves, enderchests, all of which I thought were acceptable to be donor shop items. And as I went around I saw several types of CDs (who even uses these), horse armor, (my horses always get Killed... NOPE) and last, but definitely least..... Inc sacks, yes the things dropped by the squid that overcrowd every ocean, lake, swamp, pond, and cauldron. (Not joking about the last one). Why did I pay $40 to buy an item that no one wants but everyone has. Dropped by the nuisance mob of minecraft. So out of pity for the people that have invested more money than me into this wonderful server I peeked into the Elite shop. The elites had spawn eggs and sponges and all kinds of unobtainable items in regular SMP. Then I looked in supreme they had spawners, and other great items. And best of all ultimate. They had Tnt (so did exclusive shop for some reason) and they had modified items like an eternal burning furnace. To me it seems that exclusive is excluded from what donors really should get. The poor VIP and premium members paid their money to buy wood and other excessively abundant items.

Friends, staff, and fellow keeps, my suggestion is to buff low donor's shops, and upgrade donor spawn. Chicken spawn egg in VIP, Sheep, pig, cow, spawn eggs in premium, sponges, wolf, ocelot in exclusive. I know what the staff are getting at here. They are encouraging players to upgrade the rank that they already have. But I feel that they have gone "underboard" (so to speak) with the perks of the lower ranks. Now that players have already invested money into their server they feel a sense of commitment so they don't need as much of a push to be convinced to upgrade. For the donor spawn, if possible a separate entrance to terrarium would be nice. At previous spawns I understand was too easy for donors to die resplendent and run back into terrarium in a matter of seconds. But right now it seems like it almost takes longer to get to terrarium from the donor spawn then it does from the citizen spawn.

Once again don't get me wrong. I love meepcraft. It is my favorite server. However I feel slightly disappointed at what the perks are for some of the ranks.

I hate how you used the F2P term from TF2 to say who the citizens are. Donors aren't "paid" money or any special "items".

 

I learned the free to play term from runescape never played tf2 tbh. I don't see how that is relevant by any means though

 

My suggestion about more stuff in the donor lounge was accepted, yet nothing happened

Things we need to add (or add back)
-Sonic room, THAT WAS SO FUN
-Special Donor mini games
-Minecart races.
-Parkour races.

 

Do any staff want to share their opinions? Thoughts? Comments! Or criticism?

 

Vip is 10$. I can't buy a movie ticket with 10$. I think the perks are fine at the moment.

And you don't"buy" for the perks.
You buy cuz you like the server.
Plus, the premium shop dark oak is there for SELLING not buying

 

This isn't just about Vip it is all about the low ranks. the lower half. I get that higher ranks payed more and get more perks, but as of lately it seems like the low ranks are extremely deprived. And I know Supreme and Ultimate are in dire need of perks, but the lower ranks are the easiest to fix, because they don't need as many perks, but they need it just as badly.

I am just saying, why not have terrarium access from the donor lounge, and give the lower ranks some actually hard to get items in their shops. Not just wood, and redstone, and abundant stuff that would be easier to find in the wild than it is to earn the money to buy them in the shop.

 

So what we have been working on for a wile when it comes to perks is to find perks that fit the price of each rank. So even doe VIP and Premium do not have anything special in the shop. They do have other things that are cool. Like VIP has /chest, /effect rain, /back and /tpahere and Premium has /dis pig, /workbench, /ci and /feed. Remember these are ranks that doesn't cost to much money so we try to show that in the ranks perks. So I think right now it is balanced but we are still adding new perks all the time and new items to the shops.

But i do like the idea with the donor shop upgrades for lower ranks. But in my opinion we would have to find some items that reflects the ranks.
