It's sad that when I try to take a look at these forums some of the top threads are about how this server has declined and how that staff are crap and how they aren't doing good enough and that's the reason the server is declining. Alright well this is gonna be fun to address!

So for starters minecraft isn't what it was when we were in the prime of 2012-2013. If you haven't noticed it's been around 2-3 years since that and many other games have come out.

Now the second thing, you guys friggin have the worst dislike towards staff (even more than I used to). You all need to give them more credit, say thank you every once in a while, stop complaint about how they sit around doing nothing and picking there noses.

Feel free to criticize, I can take it.

No, I'm not gonna criticize you. :p I feel the same way. Either the top discussions are useless stuff or rants on the condition of the staff team and the sever. What I really want to know is why there is so much negativity and toxicity on here anymore. Any point I come to the forums, I walk away either upset or wanting to write a rant letter to someone.

Maybe it is just the way society rolls now. Maybe it is just the player base.

MineCraft won't be a really popular thing in a few more years. Seems like this last push for 1.9 has taken them forever, and I don't forsee a 2.0 coming out. The added fact that Meep is a towny "economy" server also has to do with the unpopularity of it. People think it can be restored to what it used to be, but in reality what really needs to be worked on is keeping the current player base happy while bringing in a few new people here and there. Without a player base, it's hard to build a player base. An unhappy player base makes for very few new-comers.

The one thing I will disagree with you on is that staff do a lot. Yes, they do quite a bit, but from what I hear and see, it's nothingclose to the difficulty it was back when I was staff the first time. I will give them credit that they work their minds to the point where they are using every bit they can to focus. It's an unhealthy relationship they have with it. There also seems to be that staff have to fully devote their free-time in their life to the sever. "You are playing x when we need help on Meep. Wow" . I mean. Waiting for a Klutch post on this thread too I guess, but. Yeah. I think it's just different to how staff used to be and people think it needs to be a consitent thing. Staff can't change. Can't change the way things work or the things they do. When in reality, that isn't a reality. The staff do a pretty darn good job for what they are tasked with. When they say they volunteer, they are really signing up for something along the lines of an unpaid-internship basically.

But yeah. Can we be a happy community for once, please?

I agree with this. I see a lot of people not only being rude tostaff, but others too, normal players. They just have to talk to people and see how nice some of them can be. And they also need to look more closely at how hard staff work.

Honestly, I feel as though players have always been somewhat hateful of staff. However, I agree with you- I also feel like players are ruder than before. I haven't really seen much in game, but on the forums it seems as though so many players are toxic and more impatient than before.

On the topic of Minecraft's popularity though, it's been 5 years since it was released. The fanbase is slowly dipping down, many people quitting for other games. However much money invested towards any server, the population of the server probably isn't going to exceed when it was 2013, so continuing complaining about how the olden days were so glorified and now it's so dull is useless. Right now the server is what it is, no matter how much changing is done it isn't going to revert back to a few years ago.
Not only that, but the average age of a Minecraft player is probably somewhere around 11-12. To me, not many 11 and 12 years olds are very excited about learning how to make business and manage money.

Although I really hate people constantly complaining about things, they don't know what's going on behind the scenes. I completely trust that staff are doing big projects behind the scenes, but it's not really visible unless you've been there or have learned about stuff through some other means. On the outside, a player might see there are 4 staff members are online, and think that because their modreq took an extensive amount of time that the staff aren't doing any work. If you've done any sort of volunteer work or attended an internship, then you should know that it requires the same amount of effort. I'm not sure what's going on right now and on the inside, but I do know that arguing back and forth is pretty bad for both staff and the normal players. Is it really that hard to hold back from replying to someone else's post?

I was at age 11! There are the few that play MC servers for economy and architecture, we need to find how to attract these people, and fix the stocks.
