Please DO NOT RUSH /warp shop

Please make sure /warp shop is carefully reviewed before releasing it. It's okay if it takes a while, because the economy can function organically in the meantime.

Every single time /warp shops is revamped, there are multiple exploits leading to massive influxes of cash entering the economy. We saw this with the introduction of the gamma economy, where noteblocks were used to bring $10 mil into a fledgling economy, effectively dooming it from the start.

So please, please, PLEASE, make sure you get /warp shop right before you finalize it.

 

can you make /warp shop able for all and put every item in and be able to sell at all of them

 

i think this should apply to everything - i want them to be very careful about every decision and make sure it's the right one - i don't want the economy to go bad after 2 weeks just like the other resets

 

IMO it's more important to get /warp shop right than anything else. Is towny upkeep not balanced? Fine, fix it, adjust the amount, no big deal--it's not abusable. Wild not working right? Fine, fix it. Spawn missing blocks here and there? Whatever, fix it after you release it, no big deal.

But players can (and have) exploited /warp shop to the tune of tens of millions of meebles in the past, and the damage caused is irreversible /warp shop abuse early in the economy (or immediately after shop revamps) has caused more damage to the economy than any other single factor.

Man, I had my auto netherbrick smelter still sitting in my town until, well, yesterday.

 

Just don't make the shop obsolete in the sense that nothing is worth selling or buying. Don't jump at people making money and instantly think "exploit". Be reasonable

 

We will certainly put extreme care and detail into our shop, and I can assure you that all items will be checked before release.

 

Maybe make /warp shop for basic items? It's harder to exploit if you don't add crafted items.

This is sort of a hard question to address as of now since we don't really have an idea of how the new jobs will pay out. However, if a job requires that a certain item is gathered and the job doesn't pay very well for that task, the shop should be there to supplement income and remove excess materials that would not be expended in a player market (as mentioned above, be reasonable but know that this is often how new players will decide whether or not the money is worth sticking around for). Otherwise, the shop should function as a place where players can purchase exclusive items with their meebles. These items available should be a mix of cosmetics and utility, and should be reasonably priced if they are not permanent. The main goal of a shop setup like this is to have an abundance of high-incentive options that players can purchase instead of sitting on top of large sums of meebles, delaying the towny "endgame" and helping with player retention.

It might be hard to make a list of items until we have an idea of what parts of mcmmo will be active, but ill update this post as i have ideas. I don't want to rush any ideas now.

I agree. However, it's difficult to price items before the economy is even released, like you say. In my personal opinion, we wait like 2 weeks before adding meepshop, and base it's prices on the current market rates of items.
