Reason for ban: Inappropriate name

Staff member who issued ban: Summrs

What have you learned and why should we trust you to do better? First off I would like to condemn the actions of Summrs as I was waiting for confirmation from higher staff as to whether I would get issued a ban. Instead he logged on, banned me, then logged straight back off. I had been on the server for two hours prior to this ban with my new name, with no one reporting me or filing a modreq about it.

Secondly, my new Minecraft name, "A_vicious_STD", is no way vulgar, drug related or deemed hate content.

The rules state;
"Any other deemed inappropriate, offensive topics is prohibited".
If someone is offended by an STD, then that is on them and not the server and its staff.

Over the last few months I have witnessed several IGN's which I thought staff would have banned them for. However, this is not the case. They were, and still are, aloud to play on the server until they can change their name with no one batting an eye.

Is it fair to single out one player and not others for this "offence"?

Quick question....

In the past 60 ish days you were banned for:

1. Sexual Ref
2. Language
3. swearing
4. language
5. killing no warning
6. trolling refusing to stop harassing players

and now

7. Inappropriate name

My question is this:

Why? I assumed you are not a fan of vicious STD's so why come back have multiple language bans and sexual bans in the last 60 days followed by a trolling ban by an admin and change your name to something you knew would cause an issue? Is this another form of a troll?

I am just having a hard time understanding this, at first I saw it and was like hmmmm then seeing the recent history and makes me ask is this a trend? Or a way to virtually give the middle finger to rules, morals, standards?

 

I'd like to point out that he was unbanned probably 10 minutes later for that killing no warning ban because it was a mistake & that trolling ban was because our friends were trolling the staff and acting like they wanted him banned because he wouldn't leave their town. Those last 2 were basically jokes ( just saying )

 

no this is not "another form of troll". As VKL stated, the last two bans on my history were idiotic.

A bunch of us were in a town, I got banned even though it wasn't my town and got unbanned after I brought this to the attention of higher staff.

Again, like vkl said, a bunch of friends trolled the staff into getting me banned.

These bans are water under the bridge.

This is not a "trend". I was under the assumption that the staff team would have no problem with my name as it contained no language or drug reference and other names are allowed that are very similar to my new IGN. They just have to change their name in a months time.

The reasoning behind my name quiet simple. It is comical.
"You sold 10 logs to A_vicious_STD"
"A_vicious_STD wants to teleport to you"
I didn't want to upset staff with some of the other names I thought of which were inappropriate.....just ask the guys I was on TeamSpeak with at that time, so I chose what I thought an alright name. But this was not the case according to staff.

As I said before;
for the two hours I was online, not one person reported me or made a complaint.
