Storytime With Peri

The story I am going to tell you is why my sister is allergic to pickles.
One day, when I was 4, my friends and I were bored out of our minds on the back porch. Being four, with our minds running wild thinking of something to do, my friend asked "Are any of you allergic to anything?"
My brother, face still down, muffled "I'm allergic to pickles," and we all laughed so hard that one of my friends could not help but fall out of her chair. Ever since then, we have had this joke where pickles were always the answer. Need help with your homework? Get a pickle! Feeling sick to your stomach? Eat a pickle! You're allergic to pickles? So funny!
Hence why my cats name is Pickle.
Three years after my sister was born, I sat down and watched a movie with her. It was around lunch time, and I decided that it was time to introduce her to the wonderful taste of a pickle.
I do not know what went wrong that day. I am not sure if it was the wrong cucumber, or a preservative, but she started to get hives. To this day none of us know what is in a pickle that gives her this rash, but I know one thing:
It is this Earth's cruel irony, that my sister can eat everything, but a pickle.
