The Towny Community

Now, I know I'm gonna get a lot of hate for this, but I don't really care.

The towns community is slowly declining. Or, at least the alpha one is. More and more players are going to beta. And I thank those who are staying in alpha. There are too many players in beta and not enough in alpha. We need to revive this community. The towns are too unstable now.

We need to make alpha-only additions.

We don't need to let towns day. The server advertises it being

"The Best Economy Server"
And always tells us our community is great, alpha's isn't so much.

Please, actually take this into consideration. This lack of a community can really hurt the server. I now, at least for me, if my town fell, I would probably quit meep.

Please comment ideas that will make alpha great again.

Beta was a mistake

Towny has slowly gotten worse and worse over the years. The easiest way to fix it would be a reset, but everyone and their dog would flip out if that happened. Next would be to add a third Towny world, but that would further this issue and I doubt Meep has the resources to come up with a third Towny server.

 

To be honest, yes you're right Alpha is dead and that's partly why i made my own town in beta even though i would rather have made an Alpha town but people never plays in Alpha. How would we bring Alpha back?

 

Ye thats y i also bought an expensive Beta town over a cheap Alpha town. We need to take action in this matter

When a new player joins it doesn't know which is better, they pick a random one. So I guess more beta towns are recruiting new players.

 

Let's build a wall around Alpha and make Mexico pay for it.

Well, my thought process is

1 ) They see Beta as newer, so it must be cheaper right?

2 ) Since so many people have migrated to Beta, you look in chat and there are so many people with the TownsB tag, so they think Beta.

 

I will give my new-player point of view. Personally, when I first joined and investigated around the Town worlds, my attention wasn't drawn to Beta. I was pretty much willing to join any town with a kind mayor and motivated players in it. It had nothing to do with player base. It just so happened that the first town to invite me in, was in Beta. As a new player, I had no biased towards either. I cannot speak for other new players, but it seemed the very welcoming atmosphere in MeepCraft in general has served it well when it comes to Towny. In conclusion; I'm not too concerned with the decline of the Alpha town world as of now. This is subject to change. That's just my 0.2¢

As I stated above, as a new player I can agree 100% to this. We have no biased towards either. We choose the one we are invited to essentially.

 

Wipe alpha and pay the owners of the town's the meebles that their town's are worth. They can then set their town's back up in the New release of alpha. Or then again, I'm beta

Sentimental value is worth more than meebles.
I got offered 50 mil for freyview. did I take it? Hell no. It's an amazing town and I wouldn't ever sell it to anyone I didn't fully and completely trust with it, despite meeble amount.

True...Meebles are not as valuable as ur sentimental value and ur memories with it.

 

When I first joined meepcraft I was immediately invited to quadburg in alpha which I later learned is the first town ever created in meepcraft and I use it as my home. In beta I am with my friend in game in a private town in co mayor he's mayor. I use it to raid basically.

 

Oh don't do that "If this happened, I'll probably quit meep" bullcrap. There's different games you can play other than quitting the server over losing a town. I've lost at least two towns on this server due to having little cash in my balance, and couldn't keep those towns alive. I still play the server, even after that happened.
