hello, since the /tc is global, why not have /t online be global?

edit: by global I mean that you can say something in townsa or townsb in the /tc and it will be displayed to anyone in your town no matter what world you're in. I think the same effect should happen with the /t online command.

-First off, you have tab to see who is on. All you have to do is /warp townsa or /warp townsb and hold tab to see who is on.
-/T online is for your town. To see which players in your town are online.

Do you mean /t online to be global as in tells everyone on in your townsb and townsa towns, or everyone who is in townsa and townsb, or everyone who is in townsa if that's what world you are in.

    1. people in your town can be in way more worlds than just towns A or towns B.
    2. that's exactly what i mean, i want to see everyone in my town that is online, no matter what world they are in, because you can do /tc (town chat) and it's projected to all of the servers.

basically, i meant that /t online would show you people who are a resident in your town across all worlds. so if minecraftplayer1 was in Creative world and he was in my town, I could do /t online and still see him in the list. hopefully that makes sense :)

Land does have a point that if you are in a beta and alpha town complications may occur. I suppose it could be /ta online or /tb online

Though I'm sure that there is a way to make it list the residents of the towns world that you are in, if you are in alpha it will list your alpha residents, or beta towns world it will list your beta residents.

To clarify on what the suggestion is.
    It is:
to see what players are online in your town no matter where they are.

    It is not:
To be able to use /t online anyware (such as spawn, kitpvp, dungeon etc.)
To see what people are online in both your beta and alpha towns.

Oh yea and +1 for me

I love this idea. Maybe /t online town ,could show who is online in the town and /t online ,could show across servers.

So when would you need this? Like why not just /seen the player you want to contact or know if is online. Give me an example.

What june is saying is that if we use /t online, it will show which players are online that are in the town and also say what world they are in currently.

It will take forever just to try to see who's online. It's easier if we add this other than taking 30+ minutes to see which player is online with /seen.

Overall, +1. I really like this idea.

Say that there's many inactive players in your town (/t online can show when the players were online in the town). You use /t online to track down the inactive players that have been gone for 2 weeks+. If /t online is global, like I said, it can show all the times the players in town were last on.

Say you had a town with 10 town staff. If you did /t online (if you changed it), you'd be able to see your town staff wherever you are. It will also help towns who have strict /t kicking policies see who is active and who is not.

    Big +10.

This is actually not what I meant. /t online only shows who's online at the moment, and I think that's good.

I think it would come in handy if you wanted to have a town gathering or something. If /t online was cross-server, then I could easily see who is or isn't online. I understand that I could /seen everyone in my town, but in my case, I have over 100 residents, so /seen-ing everyone would be insanely tedious. Also, just logically, it makes sense that if your /tc message is cross-server, then the /t online should be too, that way you know who's "listening in"

edit: I don't really think it matters to see what world they are in, although that might be kind of nice (but it might be confusing to format that)

You can't memorize whole entire towny members in different worlds. We do have a /t online but it's not global like /tc. Then you will have to go back to beta or alpha and do /t online. It's too much work uk?
