What was the best version of Minecraft?

Meep's hit detection has been terribly off for ages. I honestly don't know why, but it is. Literally every serious PvPer on the server knows this.

The combat changes amplified this because "spam clicking" was the only way you could effectively land hits consistently.

Equipment shouldn't even be a problem. Everyone knows Caleb dominates KitPvP with 1.8 combat, so his equipment is not the problem unless it broke the same day as the update.

It's been said before; there's no more "skill" involved in it. So, just because you can only click once per second, it automatically means there's more skill involved than combos, strafing, and butterfly clicking.

There is literally no difference in the "skill" of clicking, because it is the exact same people who win. Instead of training for a fast CPS, they train for a timed one instead. Basically, the only difference is 1.9 combat is slower.

 

I love that you're making the assumption that everyone who likes the new PvP was bad at the old one. You're silly.

Just said cool, this thread isn't about arguing it's just opinion so if you can't let it go then don't talk about it, that was my last post about this whole ordeal and I still will post to incite explanations when I want one. So leave me be lol

Sorry I didn't see this post and you do deserve a response so this it what I believe. There's a difference between changing something as small as regeneration and changing something as large as the 1.7/1.8 pvp meta. There are hundreds of thousands of players who actively do competitive minecraft, and while that statistic may seem made up I have sources I could use but they're from other servers. Think about megaservers like hypixel (go ban me) who have millions of unique logins. Almost all their game modes are a 1.8 style combat, whether it be mini games or straight up competitive game modes like UHC or SkyWars. And I completely agree, the oldpvp plugins are absolutely atrocious but at least they're able to patch up a server who wants 1.9 items but not the combat. All in all there's just too large a community who are actively against this change and the minority that do like the change most likely haven't had much experience with the old. And by that I mean play competitively, or in other terms, not meepcraft

To be fair, the Beta 1.7.3 -> Beta 1.8 update changed the health and armor system about as significantly as the 1.8 -> 1.9 update changed the PVP system. But I see what you're saying, large changes are hard to stomach and I can understand why. That's why MOBA players are as salty as they are, one thing gets changes the Meta and a bunch of people flip.

 

People are so hypocritical, this community seems to have got worse as i have grown up and realised that most people in this world are stupid. 99%

1.7 was when I actually started playing minecraft so I was used to mc before guardians and rabbits and whatnot. I took a break and when I came back for real, I was surprised to see new stuff popping up everywhere. But I think 1.7 was a good update

I do not care about my grammar when i am talking to people like you. This is a Minecraft forums... I didn't flame him, that is your opinion, yet again biased opinions thinking they will hold true. I was not the one who started the pvp flame post, i infact said i bet it woulf start this, and voilla people are too predictable. i joined in 1.2.5 and that was "the golden age" of meep, as some call it. i was pretty excited when 1.3 came out, since that was the first update i experienced. the emeralds were super exciting. i remember i built the "great wall of emerald" in my singleplayer world.

1.4 is probably my favorite though. i remember it came out on halloween so i spent like an hour setting up a LAN world(another great feature from 1.3) with all the cool new spooky stuff to play on with my sister. bats, witches, the wither, heads. it was awesome!

1.9 is my second favorite though, the new combat is fun(in my opinion JEEZ) and the elytra and new end section and the dragon fight and basically everything is awesome about it!
