As has been said by staff many times, they do plan to update the server to 1.12 when plugins are up to date. One of the features of 1.12 is the removal of the vanilla achievement system. Instead, we now have an entirely new system called "Advancements."
Essentially, this was designed to allow lawmakers to create their own achievements, but I see it being quite useful to create a system of Meepcraft Advancements. Essentially, these would be ordinary tasks to which can be customized to an incredible degree. The source code is already built into Minecraft, and all techs would have to do is create a small plugin that stores the custom ones. The system already allows for items to be rewarded, as well. So, it will be similar to the achievements plugin already added, but with more accessibility and purpose. For example, any and all players can view the server advancements directly from the pause menu, after selecting advancements.
By having custom advancements, you can program in special tasks that can only be completed once. One that I thought of already was awarding a gold block upon getting a vote key. Obviously, the staff team would have the ultimate say in what advancements are included, but I believe it would be a great way to incorporate new and old players into the Towny world by having all of the advancements awarded there.

- Thread: Meep Discord
There was a post about this a while ago but I seriously don't know why Meep would rather stay w/ Teamspeak.
Discord > TeamSpeak
It would be free to run, easy to set up, easier to use for somebody who hasn't used either.
Somebody said setting up staff ranks would be hard, so just to show them that it would be easy, I have gone ahead and set up a basic server in about 3 mins.
Here's a basic channel all set up.
Gyazo - 4bfd164a6ba48f3bf0884ebd2dd824cc.png
As you can see, roles/ranks are easily set up.

There's room to customize the ranks and make them better suited for each rank, obviously as you see fit. Doing this is extremely easy, as you just have to click some squares.
(aside from ranks)
Text channelsGyazo - 8ca8acf0a5a20d5401f8c4a8bc585c13.png
Creating a text channel is as easy as clicking "create new text channel", naming it, and clicking a couple more buttons. If you wanted to get fancy and limit things and make certain things channel-specific (like giving everybody permission to post images/emoji/etc in the trashposting channel), that's easy too.
Gyazo - 452955103add057dd8effec08afe8ff3.png
You just go in, add the role (or keep it as everyone) and change permissions accordingly.
You can also lock channels and make them un-viewable to anybody who isn't on the set role-list by taking away "read messages" from "everyone", meaning that making a staff only chat is very easy, as shown here.

Creating voice channels is even easier than text channels. All you need to do is create the channel itself, name it, and restrict people from entering if you need. ( as shown with the staff room, here: Gyazo - c778b8e7062a116a05956fd3ce7c80af.png )
You can also set limits on how many players/people can join each voice channel, as shown Gyazo - 47f97439b580e020ea2e70c51711aa14.png (in this case, general only allowed 19 players while alpha has no set limit)
No, this is not perfect. Discord is a newer program, therefore it's nowhere near as mature as TeamSpeak. But, it's been growing rapidly, and I've had zero problems while using it for the 6 months I've been using it as an alternative to skype. It, to me and many other people, is much easier and hands on when compared to TS. With the help of somebody who's used the program once or twice, you can add bots to your server and take it to a whole new level. Bots on Discord are surprisingly advanced, and with the help of a tech or somebody who knows how to make discord bots, you can easily make a Meepcraft bot that does anything you need it to. This was, like I said, 5 or so minutes.
I can't personally see a reason to not switch over to Discord other than "what if people don't want to switch" "they're used to TS" etc. To those, all I can say is what I've already said. Discord is easier to use, it's free, there's a very nice working app (making it even more accessible).
Please consider switching to Discord.Khafra, MoonlitMadness, FatIsNoob and 7 others like this. -
- Thread: Forum Backgrounds
Alright, my brain has an idea.
On some websites or applications there is a setting to change the background to different colors and stuff.
So I'm thinking yeah I want my Meepcraft to have a Pokemon themed forums.
Like most of my suggestions they are simply asthetic, but if it is possible to have different wallpapers that would be awesome, and people would totally use them!
An idea at hand that doesn't need to be implemented could be giving the sets of wallpapers as asthetic perks for donators. However, forums doesn't track what rank you are so keep this thought at the very back of the corner.
I have some ideas, but they don't have to be anything in particular:
-Pokemon (as stated above)
-Dark (to contrast with the white)
-Classic (you know something maroon or whatever for old people like @Cooleysworld)
-A staff background with green! Arguably this would be a perk to getting staff but I don't think a wallpaper would encourage players to do it just for that.
-Flowers!
-Explosions!
Honestly, the possibilities are endless!
It's not an important idea, but it would be lots of fun!MoonlitMadness, Toostenheimer, FatIsNoob and 7 others like this. -
- Thread: Remove Feed
So with the recent update to perks and the removal of some enjoyable perks there is one addition that has done more harm then good. The universal perk of /feed has destroyed the market for any food projects and any production of food. While the value was very little before it did have a need for a small portion of the population but with the update there is zero value in anything food related. Therefor I believe it necessary for an economy server to not have feed so that there is more of a market to trade in.

- Thread: Voting
(Meepcraft) Name just voted! - Redeem in spawn!
Personally, I always voted via the main page. I had no clue about /vote. When I got the message above, I came to the spawn and... stood there clueless.
The suggestion is just an easy change from (Meepcraft) Name just voted! - Redeem in spawn!
to (Meepcraft) Name just voted! - Redeem in spawn with /vote!
Aside from that, I have been reading through the Trello site (damn it's a mess) and didn't find any post regarding losing one's votes after loging on/off. You can count fixing this as a part of my suggestion.
While I appreciate Trello and knowing what's up with the server, it is horribly organized. If one was to look for a specific thing, one would have to read through it all and hope to find it rather earlier than later.Achmed, adlovesdogs, Summers and 7 others like this. -
- Thread: This isn't a suggestion...
Go ahead and log in and try doing all 3 of those warps.
Thats right none of them work.
A new player joins the server and sees those warps and tries all 3 of them seeing that none of them work... He/she would have to assume this server is not being kept up to date by staff or anyone. *Quits*
Fix this...lordusan, Toostenheimer, Muunkee and 7 others like this. -
Can there be a perm to make it so anvil use is made into "item use" perm, so strangers can not use up your anvils and damage them while you're away. The cost can add up... it would also be pretty annoying to have someone using anvils without your permission and having to continuously buy new ones.
