Introduction: I'm starting to run out of ways to introduce myself if I'm completely honest with you. Most of you know that my name is shain, I'm a sound designer, singer, and, most importantly, an actor. I go to Loyola University in Chicago studying for a BA in Theatre with a minor in Musical Theatre and Women And Gender Studies. Talk to me about anything related to theatre, sound, or music and we'll be best friends. A summary about my personality: I am a passionate and driven person who still loves to goof around and have fun.
This server has absolutely has made a large impact on my life. I've made long time friends. I've learned so much about myself as a professional. I have been prepared for many aspects of my life in the "real world" and have even used my experience here in an application to get my currently job. No matter how much I try, I can't stay away. I love the server and I especially love the staff who I consider to be some of my closest friends.
Why you should be Mod? I feel as though I am performing better than I ever did. The first time I was helper I was so high strung about messing up or being in trouble I acted like a robot (I'm sure Castro remembers how obnoxious I was). I recall Deinen telling me to learn how to manage myself and make decisions myself. So I did. In fact, I learned so well I worked my way to supermod to manage other staff members. I believe I did really well in the position, but there was only so much we could do at the time. We were still experimenting with different ways to get tasks done, but none of them were successful. I began to become irritable so I left the position in hopes that someone else could replace me and do a better job.
The second time around, I worked my way up to mod but I constantly had my eye on supermod. I was overly competitive and created a negative atmosphere around myself. I also was incredibly frustrated with the fact absolutely nothing could get done. No updates or development could occur. So I left again.
After my extended break, I came back to see the staff in performing the best I have ever seen. New tech have been hired that remain active, higher staff constantly add things to the server, and, probably the coolest addition, the trello. I applied again and I've never been so happy to be apart of the staff again. I'm now working as a team and not for myself. My modreq count isn't as high as I'd hope but it's not by any means unreasonable or displaying a lazy conduct. The staff is just so incredibly efficient these days that modreqs are gone almost as quickly as their sent in.
I am looking to become a moderator again because I not only have extensive experience doing so, but I also hope to be apart of the people who can make a bigger difference here. I want to be able to handle suggestions and ban appeals. I want to be able to monitor hackers easily. I have so much more to offer this staff as a moderator. I want to make a bigger difference and I want to take on more responsibility. Everyone knows I can and well perform well in this position.
What are your weaknesses? Here are my weaknesses, which are the same as they were on my helper application:
1. I don't like asking for help. I like people to know I'm competent and I don't like people knowing I'm vulnerably in any way.
2. I'm sometimes too honest. I can hurt people's feelings without realizing it and just kind of say rude things that I don't realize are rude. Honestly something I've been working on my entire life but I'm getting better. Just don't take me too seriously all the time.
Please give any other information you might think is useful for us to know: I've been helper for a month now, and the only reason I didn't apply sooner was because of my trip to Italy. I wanted to make absolutely certain that, upon returning, I got the hang of the way this staff functions. I well believe I understand that and know how to properly contribute.
Thanks for reading this. I look forward to hearing all of you.

This app was incredibily horrible. You think you know a lot, but you don't. Your very immature, and its a miracle you got staff. You act all smug all the time and harass staff. Now take everything I said and forget it. Good luck bud, +1 all the way

-1 you clearly waited too long to make this
But really big +2 because you're a bloody awesome staff member, and just a good person in general.KyloMeep, Toostenheimer, cooey and 3 others like this. -
Although a couple months ago when I was talking to you about stuff on the server you seemed extremely disapointed in meep and negative about it.
Now I think you realize that Meep is the place you should be and being staff yourself can change some stuff you are concerned about.
You're fit for a higher position I think, well advanced that other staff.Last edited: Jul 9, 2015KyloMeep, GroovyGrevous, Toostenheimer and 2 others like this. -
