Introduction: Hey there, I’m SpongeyStar! Mostly all of you know me well now, so I’ll keep this short and sweet! I am a 14 year old girl who lives in New Zealand. Subjects I enjoy include Maths, English and Digital Technology. Sports I enjoy are swimming, badminton and a little basketball! As you know by my name I absolutely love Spongebob Squarepants. Even though I’m 14, I don’t care what people think about me, just love what you love. You are on earth for a reason.

Why should you be Helper? Let’s start with my previous interview. I was recently accepted for an interview, and so I did my interview. I got m for a few reasons such as activity with school, maturity, and confidence. As I’m not really allowed on TeamSpeak, I’m not on it as much, but I can find time. That aside, I think I have worked on all the components I needed to. (will expand more on this below) Continuing on.

“Just do it.”

Some days in life you just feel like you can’t be bothered doing anything. A few days ago, it was quite a warm day. I was sitting with my Mother in the car, waiting for my sister. I got really tired and hot and just couldn’t take it anymore. We got home, and we have 2 flights of stairs in our house so I had to climb both, with my bag. I just felt like throwing myself on the ground and sleeping there forever, but I knew I had homework and chores to do. I told myself ‘Just do it,’ if you don’t then you’ll never get anywhere. That boosted me, even though I was tired, I got up and got myself organised. This all relates to MeepCraft. Being a staff member, you can’t just claim a modreq and just not be bothered to even do it. It’s worth a try, if you don’t know what to do just ask someone else. This is what I should have done in my previous time as staff. I feel like my self motivation has improved rapidly and I will handle the job well. On the note of motivation, motivation is a part of life that tells you to do something; more like helping you to do something. When in the staff team you have your fellow staff members there to guide you and motivated you throughout the job.

“ASK: Always seek knowledge”
When I was helper, I tried to fit in the most knowledge I could. If I didn’t know something, I’d either search it up on google or ask another staff member. I feel that if I do get accepted again, I will know the commands better and I’ll be able to work calmer on reports, modreqs etc.
“Never let go of your dreams”

Within the past year or so, I’ve experienced many changes in my life that have made me a better person. This year at school I signed up for the Duke of Edinburgh award. This is an award broken into 4 sections; Physical recreation, Skills, service and outdoor. In physical recreation you have to do a sport of some sort 1 hour a week, skills you learn a new skill 1 hour a week, service you give back to the community 1 hour a week and outdoor you go on an overnight camp with limited supplies. This award aims to give young people the chance to live life to the fullest and show it is possible. I joined this year and already feel good about myself. I didn’t think I could do a hike up a mountain for 2 hours, in blistering weather, but I did. I now feel more capable of myself going past my limits. On another note, in my Robotics class my group entered a RoboCup competition. We gained 1st place and headed to nationals. Little did we know, did we come 1st place in our section in the whole country. Our group had our ups and downs, lots of fights but together we made it work, because if we didn’t we knew we won’t be finished on time and won’t be able to join the competition. We couldn’t have done it without working as a team. Teamwork is key when working in a team like MeepCraft staff. If you just sit there working individually you won’t get the joy out of it, nor will you learn as much.

‘Work before play is what they always say’

This ties in completely with my demotion a few months back. There were many modreqs coming in, and about 7 staff online, including me. Then there was me, in shout, talking to my friends and playing parkour. That was the worst move I could’ve taken. With so little staff online I needed to put my hand in and help, but I didn’t, I just played. I became helper for a reason, because I could lend a hand in helping the staff, but I completely wasted it. Someone else could’ve taken my spot and done a better job. I wish I could’ve rewinded and done the better move. The past is the past, now we are in the present. I have learnt from my mistakes, and will always think twice before doing. I will always help before play, because that’s why I was helper.

‘The more disciplined you become, the easier life gets’

Currently on MeepCraft, I own two towns. Bikini Bottom and Natura. Bikini Bottom is based of my favourite cartoon SpongeBob. I made this town to fulfil my dreams, I could picture a hustling and bustling replica of the underwater settlement. I started building the pineapple….then squidwards house….the patricks house…. and that’s where it stopped. I just felt so lazy I didn’t want to build it. After a few weeks I remembered, why do I even own this town? Why don’t I just give it to someone who is more disciplined and would actually make use out of it? I wasted 200k on nothing? No. I had made my town and made it bigger. Sometimes I just left my town for ‘breaks’ to continue on later with it but I know I need to continue because a) It could benefit the community and b) it was my dream. I have become more disciplined now, which is a good skill, and have worked on both my towns for longer.

‘Dedication takes sacrifice’

I have been on this server for a year and a month. When I first joined I thought Meep was one of those servers I just log in, then just log off and find something else to do. But on Meep I just had a feeling this server was different to the others, it’s going to be great. I love this server to bits, I’m online everyday, I just can’t afford leaving Meep for a day. Becoming helper, or any staff position, takes extreme dedication. You are taking your own time out of your daily life and putting that into helping a community on a minecraft server. I feel that I’m able to handle the job with my dedication. I am active in shout constantly (maybe a little too much…) Also, if I’m not on server, I must be on forums. Forums is my chill place, if you call it that. I’m on there most of the time, and always checking for questions under Q&A which I am capable to answer. Forums is a great place to meet the Meepers, and a great place in general.

What are your weaknesses? Throughout my time on MeepCraft, and applying, I have been looking at the things I have listed as my weaknesses. They have all included immaturity, bias, teamspeak and more. Out of all these, I think only one of them is important to me now. I have crossed all the others as I think I have improved on all of them, and added a few that have popped up on the way. Also, I’m not lying, I have listed all my weaknesses. I feel if I show all my weaknesses and don’t hide them, I will become more confident in who I really am.

Teamspeak: Like I said above, my parents don’t allow me to go on TeamSpeak. I respect their decision but sometimes I have gone onto it if I had the opportunity. Even if I were allowed to get onto TeamSpeak, I would still be very shy to speak. In general I’m a shy person in life, I don’t really talk out loud much. I would be able to say a few things to the community and participate in meetings and staff meetings etc…

Immaturity: This will probably be here for a long time. I am improving but I don’t want to take it out of weaknesses because I know I still have immaturity inside me. People have told me that I am immature, and I know it too. I completely fine in real life, and can handle situations in real life. But in game I just seem to let out my inner soul and go all crazy. Now, I always think twice before I enter a message, thinking if it is mature enough or not.

Hackers: I do play infected quite a bit, but I’m not familiar with the types of hacks. I will be incompetent handling hacking modreqs, as I won’t know either what type of hack they are using or even if they are hacking at all. I will try get myself more familiar with them!

Please give any other information you might think is useful for us to know: And for those that do not know about why I was demoted, here is the brief story. I didn’t do my job well and used /g more than /done. At the peak times, there were many modreqs and many staff on, but not many staff to do all the modreqs. I should’ve taken lead and claimed a modreq but instead I’d just /shout’ed, did parkour and other useless things. I feel very bad for my wrongdoings and whenever I keep thinking back to it, I wish I could rewind in life and start again, freshly. There was also a Boomo case. When Boomo came out for beta testing, everyone was over excited and went and played. I went, and found out there was a glitch. I was put into the void and constantly had 500 meebles added to my account, when I finally got out of the void I found 1 million in my bank. Wow. I reported this to Diana and some staff, then she asked how much. I said about 300k. This was because before I told Diana, I had diced most of it, the silliest move I could ever take. I was un-realiable, I didn’t tell the truth like any person should.
