When did you join Meepcraft? November 21, 2013

Introduction: Good day Meepcraft! My name is Will, and I’m 16 years old and in 10th grade at school. I live on a small Danish island called Bornholm in the Baltic Sea (in between Sweden and Poland) with my mother and stepfather. I grew up moving around different foster families all throughout Australia, but have been living in Denmark for well over a year now. I’m the type of person who has trouble fitting everything into each day, as I have so much to do. When I’m not at work or doing schoolwork, I’ll be playing video games (usually Meepcraft) or at the gym. Unfortunately I also spend a fair bit of time going in and out of hospital, as I was diagnosed with a chronic illness called Crohn’s Disease in spring. One of the upsides to the disease is that I frequently have days where I am required to stay home, so I have more time to play Meep!
I found Meepcraft on the 21st of November 2013, when a friend and I were looking for a server to join. I remember the date because we had just gotten back from watching the Hunger Games 2 premiere. Anyway, He had vague memories of a server with a great community, and after looking up the name, we joined. He left a few months later, but I’m still here almost 3 years later!

Why should you be Helper? Experience: While I have never been a staff on a Minecraft server before, I have moderated other game servers (including Garry’s Mod Prison break and GTA:SAMP servers). I have quite a few ‘real-life’ abilities that I will apply to a helper position, such as persistence and leadership. I have a job in a large grocery store (“Kvickly”, I think it’s a bit like Walmart), from which I have experience in assisting, even though I spend most of the time stocking shelves. As far as Meepcraft goes, I have extensive knowledge of the rules and how the server functions. Having been here for almost 3 years, I have been trusted with staff positions in towns many times, and mayored just as many.

Work ethic: When I was diagnosed with Crohn’s back in spring, I was extremely skinny. I was 175cm and 44kg. Once I started gaining weight, I decided I wouldn’t just gain it all in fat, and so I started hitting the gym 4 times a week. Now I weigh 60kg, and it’s still rising. My point here is, when I want to achieve something, I work hard for it. I always complete the tasks at hand to the best of my abilities, and this is something I plan to continue doing as a staff member. I learn fast, so I am sure that I will not have any problems with learning the ins and outs of being a staff member.

Dedication: Having played here for almost 3 years, I consider myself a dedicated member of the Meepcraft community. I’ve stuck with the server through thick and thin, and will continue doing so for as long as I am able to. There is a reason that I’ve stuck around for so long, and that is because I know how unique Meepcraft is. And I want to dedicate time, as a staff member, to help keep the server this way.

Involvement: I always answer questions people have to the best of my knowledge, and I’m always up for a nice conversation with anyone, whether that be in global or local. I love getting involved with the community and socializing, which is why you’ll almost always see me chatting in global when I am on.

What are your weaknesses? Teamspeak: As a shy person, being in a channel full of people can be a little unnerving, and therefore I find it difficult to relax on TS. I certainly would have no problems with attending staff-related meetings or talking to a few players here and there, but I don’t “Hang out” in TS.

Maturity: Sometimes I can get a little carried away, however I do have the ability to be mature when I need to be. It is certainly not a weakness that will interfere with my work as a staff member.

Please give any other information you might think is useful for us to know: i ask that you kindly do not take my ban history in to consideration when voting. The past is the past, and it has now been well over a year since my last ban.

To sum up the application, I believe that I would be a valuable asset to the staff team. Thanks for reading.

So I remember this one well. I went to bat for him against a majority of sitting admins and Onis himself. Each and every time he would burn me, and be banned shortly after for the dumbest things. I never would have seen an application from him legitimately.

That is until I've also seen you grow up from a obnoxious kid to a very articulate and surprisingly compassionate young man. You've had a lot of hardships in your life and while they had certainly played a part in past actions, they have also lead you to take very interesting stances in many areas that I would not have expected from you.

+1 man. You've definitely earned it, despite having the inferior profile picture.

After thinking about my comment (real solid comment I know), why did you quit, and then decide to come back? I feel that if you got staff you would have no desire to quit for a good amount of time and I know you would be good at your job, but I'm not sure you won't just get bored or be strongly against something or just not like it and then leave.

You said good things come to an end (I think), and if not, they do. Has your time on Meep come to an end but now you're just dragging it out because you've always wanted to be a staff member? Did you have a nostalgic moment and then want to come back? I just don't know what made you come back, and how I will know you won't quit within the time you are staff controllably (meaning you literally cannot be a staff member anymore or you become to busy or anything).

I haven't been around you enough to judge you, so I would greatly appreciate you answering my questions.
Ad, I admire and respect what you did your second run as staff. It's been awhile since you were one of the worst applicants for staff, and you just wanted to show everybody that you could do it and that you've changed. Put yourself in his shoes, maybe even talk to him. Don't just assume he's the same old person he was, because most of us here aren't. I'm not saying forgive and forget, but try to see it from another perspective.

    The surprises never cease.

Despite by short time in the server as a whole, it is always compelling for me to read the stories of those who have spent an age here. It reminds me how deep and how strong bonds former here go; beyond the JavaScript and pixelated blocks.

When you first came back after the Gamma update, I assumed you were just passing through, like so many did right after the update. Your name was familiar to me; but was not that of a friend. Over the past few weeks since then, I have seen just how much you care for the server as a whole. It exemplifies everything that makes a person not a staff member by rank, but a staff member at heart. The entire goal is to make things better; to solve problems, fix things, add in new content, show off parts of the server, or any number of other things the various positions do. Yet, behind each and every one is the heart to put the time and effort into something that really doesn't benefit them. There's no reward for serving (nor do I want there to be). Yet, so many people (including myself) volunteer to take away time from so many other things; why? I would suspect it's because each person who truly has the heart for the job honestly just wants to help out.

From my perspective, you are already living the way that the team does, just without the perms and the tag. I'll never forget you were the absolute first to congratulate everyone who was accepted for interview at the same time as myself (within five minutes of those threads being moved). I haven't seen anything to suggest otherwise, so I believe wholeheartedly that the joy radiating from the majority of what you say is genuine. It isn't the joy some people have, where they're happy about anything and everything, but a joy in others succeeding, leading me to believe there would be few pleasures greater than working together.

I know you said not to bring up your past but you have had an issue with rage quitting before and in staff chat we tend to get into pretty heated discussions sometimes. I want to make sure you'll be able to handle it because the second someone doesn't agree with you on something they will voice it and rage quitting in staff looks horrible. You've had your fair share of bans but they were all well over a year ago and I do agree that the past is the past and you've show tremendous efforts to change that. I've seen nothing but positive from you on forums and in game! I have no doubts that with the right training and with the big family of staff we have now you'd fit right in and do well. Good luck bud +1

Yeah so, basically this was my Crohns Disease diagnosis. It was unclear at the time how long I'd be gone, and I therefore decided on quitting until further notice. If I had physically been able to (not being in hospital, not being extremely fatigued) play Meepcraft all summer, I would have.
The statement all good things come to an end is definitely true, but the chances of me leaving anytime soon are extremely low. In the almost 3 years I've been here, I haven't lost interest in the server at all. In fact, my interest in the server has spiked in the recent months with all the changes and new community members. Even the supposed
is only partly true, as I never really upped and went "Well, I don't like it here anymore. I'm leaving". In the past, and we're talking well over a year ago here, my 'quitting' has always been due to a ban.

I hope that answered your questions Bob.

I don't want to sound over-confident, but my answer here is absolutely. Not only do I mingle well with the current set of staff, my real-life jobs and various activities (including being in the Australian Navy Cadets and playing basketball for many years) have all taught me how to work as a team. In fact, the general system of the Australian Navy Cadets is actually built up much like our staff system; you start as a recruit and work your way through the ranks, while you do things to assist your local community.

    -1, no

I could go through your messages and find nothing positive. If there's something positive, it's more than likely you pretending to be someone you're not.

You don't have the capability to TRULY be a nice, and caring player. I'm not looking at what you are now, I'm looking at what you are in general. I'm looking at the future, cause currently that's all that matters. If this server somehow blows up, you probably wouldnt have contribute to that.

Do you want to be a staff member or a player that wants to contribute to this server? Because you have to be both, not just one.

Personally, I think you're a darling. You've always been so kind to me even during your extensive lines of bans (you'll have some explaining to do if you get an interview) and you've been great so far this year. Your timezone works well with covering times when there is currently little to no staff online, and I've seen you being helpful in chat.

What I like about you is that you don't seem to have the need to repeat what others have said. For example if someone asks 'how do i start my sky block island' and two people say /is before you can, you go with the flow and don't feel the need to send the message again, meaning you acknowledge other peoples presence and respect that, and thats great on a team.

    +1 for interview

You and I arent super close friends, but all the same
Sometimes you can have dips in your attitude that make you less than pleasant to deal with, but its been awhile, and I think a reason to stay good will keep you good.

I see no negatives rn otherwise, Im for sure a +1 for interview
